One of the lessons I taught, as a sales trainer, pertained to the formula, Skill X Effort = Results.
For example, if your level of Skill was a "1" and your level of Effort was a "1"
you could expect your level of results to be a "1."
In other words, a salesperson could expect minimal results,
only falling into sales that required no salesmanship.
However, if they could get both their Skill & Effort levels up to a 4 each,
they could expect an exponential effect with their level of results being around a 16.

This formula held true, unless a new salespeople's wound up in an area
were the market conditions were abnormal.

Unfortunately, (actually fortunately) the market conditions for Mormon missionaries
has tanked in those parts the of world where the internet is easily accessible.
It doesn't matter how high their Skill and/or Effort level is,
it doesn't matter what sales system they use (i.e. door to door, internet, etc.)
the market conditions for what they are selling has changed for the worse.
When market conditions have tanked, like it has for Mormonism,
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU DO OR SAY THERE IS NO BUSINESS MODEL
THAT CAN SUSTAIN SUFFICIENT SALES IN THAT ENVIRONMENT, PERIOD!

Well said. It's not the sales people, it's not the sales process.

It's the product/service operating as a corporation, but hiding behind church status for tax fraud purposes.

Mormonism is a cult fraud and you can't get people to buy it who now have the resources to know what is the Mormon church.

TBMs believe it is still growing.

14+ million members, when does the Internet help confirm this charade is a lie so that a TBM has to accept the Mormon worldwide church is about 3 to 5 million with decline every year.

to succeed, will fail.

New Coke

Windows Vista

Romney 4 prez

Netflix splitting services

LDS Missionary Surge

Not only is the general public uninterested, but a lot of the sales force is unsure of the product and were railroaded into signing up, and the sales managers (aka Mission Presidents) will be riding herd on a bunch of brainwashed, uninformed, immature kittens.

Nobody, including the GAs, really understand what this new program is. It has "Hail Mary Pass" written all over it. Hilarity is sure to ensue.

If the new MPs aren't scared s**tless, they don't understand their situation.

People are supposed to be trying to get their friends to sign up for something they don't need or want. And being told that if they aren't being successful it's because they aren't trying hard enough.

BTW, I think that most people suck at sales. Good sales people make good money, because not every one can do it.

When LDS Inc is finally forced to sell off most of their mighty MORmON temples, then even TBMs will have a hard time contending that MORmONISM is still growing. In the mean time I hope LDs INc builds temples like crazy because the more temples it has will make the tipping point come sooner and act more dramatically as it does come.

What they need to do is to diversify.

How, you say? Simple.

Start a restored church of Satan with all the frills that go with that(anything fun) but you secretly worship baby jesus and the goat-people's god. This new vertically integrated organization should dove-tail nicely with the current format of pretending to worship baby jesus yet secretly worshipping Satan. If anything it should push your ability to cross-sell through the roof.

You got both markets covered and still maintain your original corporate mission of lying your fucking asses off for a couple sheckles and coerced sex with minors.

In my experience, getting an 18 year old to do something they don't want to do is asking for trouble.

The ones who've been forced will turn very passive aggressive. The ones who thought this would be 'fun', will get depressed, then PA.
The ones who thought they were doing the Lords work will be stunned at what the outside world now knows about mormonism. A lot of things that those poor kids were never taught, and in fact were lied to.

That's going to be one hell of a sales force. Add to that kids that are way more computer savvy than the old farts in charge. Kids that have been taught all their life at school to speak out when they think abuse is happening. Kids that are more sure of themselves than previous generations. Kids who have travel experience and know how to buy a plane ticket, phone home, transfer money, all without the MP having a clue. I smell trouble.
