That pesky HPV is being described as "ubiquitous" (a lot of people have it) and it's now linked to an uptick in head and neck cancers. (It's well known to be linked to cervical cancer).
From an online article about it:
"...some experts link the trend to a rise in the popularity of oral sex over the past few decades. That's because the human papillomavirus (HPV) is a major trigger for these cancers, and HPV can be transmitted through this type of sexual activity."
So, were all those religious leaders right all this time? One partner, missionary position - recipe for good health? They may think so!
I have to say that cancer of the tonsil isn't something I've heard much about. Sounds intensely undesirable.
