One of my friends from my mission posted his child was attending this boot camp at Southern Virginia University. Sounds like a week of torture to me. At least the price is right - on the right side of the page they talk about someone donating money so that each participant has to pay only $100 for the whole week. Still, cheap torture is no consolation.

This is an indication that they are getting missionaries that don't know the very basics of life.

How to pay a bill
How to write a check and balance an account
How to cook a basic meal
How to study
How to study
HOw to study
How to teach
What to study
How to study with someone else.

The bill for learning these things will be almost $500 next year.
IMO these are things all kids should know by the time they are 18. Apparently their codependent mothers have seen to it that their kids don't know how to do anything for them selves. I hope they also teach them how to thread a needle and sew on a button for that price.

When I was a kid in the 1960s, they had "one-week mini-missions." Or maybe they were two weeks. What the hell do I remember? Anyway, Mormon life was kindler and gentler. You'd have to be out of your mind to make it through a mission nowadays.
