Our last conversation five years ago went something like this:

My friend called me over the phone.

- Hi Vol what are you doing?

- watching a movie at TCM-channel?

- silence

- you think I am boring right?

- What?

- Watching movies instead of being with me?

- I am just watching a classic movie!

- Ok

Do not remember how the conversation ended. But we have not spent any time together since.

It was the first time I ever told him that I watched TCM. I guess that was like insulting the Holy Ghost.

Wow, you'd think that Turner Classic Movies is a big hit with Mormons, due to the old Hollywood censorship laws.

Those actors could barely sit on the same bed for 5 minutes, or they usually had twin beds. Couldn't kiss for any length of time during romantic scenes. LOL.

I think being TBM and true friend are mutually exclusive terms because friendship with a Mormon always comes back to how well you both toe the line...step over it, and friendship is no more..
