The Church tells us that it simply holds our gay brothers and sisters to the same standards as hetero members: Abstinence outside of marriage.

However, hetero LDS kids, outside of marriage, get to dance with each other, hold hands and cuddle, go on dates, kiss and make out.

What would happen if two gay kids held hands, danced, and kissed at a church dance. You can bet your sweet arse they would be escorted out. Even if they protested "We are living church standards, and not having sex outside of marriage, and simply doing the things kids do at church dances."

The church is holding gay members to the same standards as straight members?

It breaks my heart. I can only imagine how desolate my teenage years would have been without dating, holding hands, making out, etc. To be told that even having a crush is evil... heart breaking.

A desolate life indeed. I never kissed anyone until I was 25, and now I feel waaayyy behind in terms of dating experience. I have a lot of catching up to do.

The Church can't sit on this fence. It's physical relations within marriage or bigotry. They'll eventually choose with the country about 25 years later that physical relations between a couple are not sin within marriage.

Young love, not for gays, Jesus doesn't like it, he said so many times in his books, at least that must be the reason, I think, well maybe not, I don't know. What does the prophet say on the matter today?

Maybe find 2 brave young undisputed 100% hetero best buddies to do it.

How on earth can tscc say they are holding the gay people up to the same standard as the hetro people, when the hetro can marry, but the gay cannot?

In reality,all the hetosexual Mormon has to do is wait to get married (and those of us that have been there know THAT is not gaurantee of happiness - just the opposite). BUT the gay youth can look forward to ...... NOTHING, because a marriage between them is NOT accepted.
