Blue is blasphemy. Invisible is the one true colour of the invisible pink unicorn.

I am agnostic about the existance of invisible colors.

Brown is the new black, and we all know what the BoM says about that!

I have just updated my screen name... do you like it?

My real favourite colour is one that I see with my spiritual eye and it is too sacred to share with you at this time.

I stand here today <sniff> to tell all of you <sniff, sniff> that I know <sniff, tearing up> that green is the True Color. Other colors <sniff> may come close, but their hearts <sniff> are from heaven.

Violets and Purples truly are the most speshul colours.

Green, yea, even forest green. Even the one true green. Even the redeemer's green, olive green, the green of Christ. Green is the color of the gospel of truth. And yellow and red. Blue too. But not orange. For orange is the color of the adversary. But green, green is for the righteous.

I declare orange to be the true color, because nothing rhymes with orange.

Well, to me, the idea that a color must or must not rhyme is a complete travesty. Colors should not be evaluated on the basis of rhyming.

This is the most speshel testimony in my heart, that I've ever had. I know, and with utter conviction can say to you, that Green is the true color. Because, one day, when I was tithing, I noticed that my MONEY was green, but that it wasn't really MY money but Heavenly Father's money and that's how I came to know the true color was Green. Amen

This thread was inspired by a previous thread, http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,999126

The title of the thread was "This place can be divisive" but the content of the thread was about when you were born. Thus the title of this thread and the seemingly unrelated content.

Speaking of which, since black is the new white, I would like to change my eternal unchanging favourite colour to blacker than a piece of charcoal in an unlit coal mine at midnight. My eyes were getting sore from looking at my previous favourite colour too much.

Lenina -- color is in the eye of the beholder. It is literally "no thing" because it is a refraction of sunlight, which holds all colors. Some eyes can see it and some can't. Many animals only see black and white. Some humans are color blind.

Color is the visual corollary to the auditory form, expressed in this question:

"If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around to hear it, is there a sound?"

It is on-topic because Mormon faith is also completely subjective. People "believe" ardently and completely scoff at the same story, for example the First Vision. Clearly belief is in "the eye of the beholder" not in actual fact.

In psychology, "the eye of the beholder" is seen in the established fact that an automobile accident seen by various people produces a variety in the witness statements--some even conflicting with physical evidence.

The truth is that we are wandering around gathering data with senses that vary greatly from one person to another. Our minds also vary greatly in how we are predisposed to handle that data.

The result? Some say reality is subjective, some say it is all just an illusion of perception.

Your "favorite color" is an learned emotional response to a certain wavelength of light.

Mormonism is a learned emotional response to a certain story which has been repeated over a lifetime and reinforced with fear.

I'm sure you regret asking by now.
