A lot of people I know who have left the Church do it for emotional reasons (ie. they don't get along with people in their Ward etc...) However my reason for leaving the Church was simply a logical decision after some rather extensive research. However the catalyst behind all of this is perhaps the most interesting story. As a side note I became quite close friends during that period with Daniel Peterson (a well known apologist for the Church) and after he admitted to me that there was no actual physical evidence for the Book of Mormon it kind of sealed the deal for me.
