My wife has decided to leave the LDS community after almost 13 years. I was a member for 18 months before leaving some time ago. I am so proud of her; she quoted new testament which directly conflicts with LDS fiction (and there is alot of that as anyone who can read knows).The Bishop asked her if I was the reason she was leaving (evil apostate that I am!) but she spoke her mind and was smart enough not to start a debate w/him over "interpretation of God's words" or other such nonsense. This same Bishop tried using fear on me when I left; implying that only the LDS church could prevent my daughters fall from grace/falling prey to the Devils influences. Our 9 year old, BTW, is at the top of her class, just receiving another two scholarship awards this month. There are many reasons why she left, but she just figured it out; that church is a manipulative, self serving organization twisting peoples' belief systems to suite their our gain. Fuck 'em.
