I hate being the relative of a mormon. I feel like it makes me guilty by association. Its like grime i cant scrub off no matter how hard i try. It embarrasses me.

I would definitely bring it up with the bishop and the duo. that was wildly inappropriate of the duo and the bishop needs to be aware of this issue, ideally so he can set them straight.

I don't think you overreacted. I would have been pissed too. I'm generally very non confrontational but I would not have walked away from that.

oh my god, now one of the mishies is talking about how their brother was struggling /with the gospel/ and re-examined everything and now he's "going downhill" making bad decisions. Head meet wall. Rinse and repeat. ETA: "He hasn't gone to church in about 5 years and he's not praying and I just wonder how he's supposed to get the help he needs from God if he's not picking up t

Not for me, but for my relative . My relative just read a verse, 2 nephi 4:34, and I damn near busted a gut laughing at the language of the verse. Did people actually speak like this, I've never read the bible, so I don't know if the bible sounds like this. I just know I absolutely could not take such scripture seriously, even if the doctrine were believeable.

Hahaha, my TBM relative said they're going to stop talking about the church with me because it sounds like I want them to leave the church. I'm just pointing out what the church has taught and where their tithing money is going to. I also pointed out that their tithing money is really coming from tax payers pockets since they pay from welfare. Awesome! I love indirectly funding hate'

My mother takes ambient regularly, gets up often to drink water and even has conversations. Come morning, no recollection. It honestly scares me.

How about paying taxes so an unemployed TBM receiving cash assistance can pay their tithing from that cash assistance! That just ticks me off...!

In Catholicism there's also Hail, Holy Queen < http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salve_Regina > Also, in Wicca there's the Goddess along with the God. Not to mention all the Goddesses in the Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Celtic, etc., belief systems.

While debating with my TBM relative 1-year convert about the Mormon's beleif in Heavenly Mother I was purusing this month's Ensign. I came across the LDS Voices section and read a FPS about a small child with bronchitis that HF didn't heal because *she hadn't fasted*. Then, of course, after she began starving herself the doctor declared him healthy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! ARGH it's disgusting

Is there any way to bring it to the press' attention that as a Bishop Mitt Romney most likely asked minors about their masturbation habit?

I want to be open with my daughter about sex, and I know the first part it knowing all the names. In your household were taught "vagina", "penis", etc.? Did it make you uncomfortable to use those terms? When I was growing up I learned about sex from my parents. There weren't any silly names for body parts, but I still find it very uncomfortable to use certain words, most

I missed out on the last one Offer to do a tarot card reading! (Bonus points if the Devil comes up) Or maybe to read their TEA leaves (Oh no, that goes against the WoW, doesn't it?) Or maybe do a palm reading (as sensual as you can make it, male or female.)

What's kind of scary is the meetinghouse in my area (the Bronx of all places) looks a lot like the meetinghouses in those slides. :|

Santee had a meetinghouse? Was it even it's own stake? That's crazy, I grew up in Santee. The only thing Mormon about SoCal was the San Diego temple. Back then we weren't mos, but my mom did invite mishies in for company when I was a baby. I don't know if they did lessons or just chatted though. --- Edited bc stoopid iPhone.

I don't mean to be insensitive but I don't think you can really compare the two. Yes, they were both tragic accidents, but one was murder and the other was...well, not. They both scream wrongful death suits, especially the Sister missionaries, but...I mean, it was murder.

I never understood this. I know at least two gay Eagle scouts, openly gay, never hid it. And I'm not sure they're God fearing, either. Maybe its because I'm thankfully far away from the Morridor, but the only discrimination I see over here where I am are against girls, unless it's a venture crew.

I hope your health issues have since been resolved. When someone's sick is not the time to start treating one unfairly. But at least you got out while still young.

Its going to start off me explaining but my voice will rise and I will get more animated and before I know it I will be seething again. It's just how I am and I'ma working on it to change it. But yes, I do plan on informing him that there are some things FAMILY members should know before CHURCH members. Probably with lots of swear words mixed in.

Which can be found here: http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,565154,565154#msg-565154 I have decided I'm going to take it to the bishop, if I'm still riled up about it and I don't give myself a nervous breakdown. It will probably be in some way healing to get it out rather than keeping in it. Silly thing is I actually kind of feel sorry for this guy that I've met once, briefly, when he ta
