This is why I f***ing hate religion. It teaches people to be so narrow-minded and disapproving of anyone who doesn't live their lives the "one and only correct" way.

I support gender equality. I consider myself a humanist. These are two of the biggest reasons I left the church. The LDS church is NOT a church of gender equality nor is it a humanistic organization. It most likely never will be. Fine. If TSCC wants to pretend we still live in the year 1950, that is exactly what they're going to do. If Kate Kelly and the rest of the OW movement do not like or agr

Absolutely absurd and disgusting. Her husband must be a real piece of $hit if he is looking upon a 14-year-old CHILD as a temptress.

Does anyone else think Mormon wedding dresses are generally tacky and strange looking? Don't get me wrong, some of my Mormon friends have gotten married in "modest" gowns that have been absolutely stunning. However, it seems that a good chunk (possibly even the majority) of Mormon wedding gowns just look unpleasant. The whole bejeweled Hanes t-shirt look on the bodice of so many Mormon

I was on this drug for two years. I am a 24-year-old female and have been on a never-ending cycle of antidepressants since the age of 9. Viibryd was not a good fit for me. Unfortunately, the tablets I took were not scored, so I had to cut the pills in half with a pill cutter while trying to estimate where the half-way mark was. If I went even a sliver over the halfway mark, my brain would be indu

I'm not sure I understand your reasoning behind why you believe Mormonism is not a cult...you stated that technically all religions are cults, so is Mormonism not a "religion" in your eyes? I hope I don't sound snarky, I do tend to overanalyze and overdissect things... :) Anyhow, I posted a response to a thread several days ago about why I personally believe Mormonism is a cult. The

Why do you think Mormons are so completely obsessed with modesty? I follow a few Mormon girls on Pinterest and I can honestly say that nearly all of them seem WAY too preoccupied with finding and pinning modest clothing. And the whole shoulders-must-be-covered thing...who decided that bare SHOULDERS were immodest?

Devout members love to call ex-mormons liars and haters. The reason they want you to think we're all lying on here is because they want you to only focus on the nice and pretty parts of Mormonism. They want you to join. They KNOW their rituals are freaky and would seem very bizarre and even scary to those who are not affiliated with the church. If people know that Mormons do creepy $hit, they are

I was sad. The missionaries introduced me to lots of friendly, and most importantly, seemingly HAPPY people. I attributed their happiness to the church. Funny thing, a lot of these people who I thought were so happy in the church are now inactive or have left completely.

Oh god. Where do I even begin? I guess the thing that disturbs me (as well as many other people) the most about Mormonism is the emotional abuse the members are subjected to. A LOT of this has to do with the temple and the secretive rituals that go on inside there. One of the nice little catch phrases the church likes to use is, "families can be together forever"....but only if you pay

Being born into a Mormon family is DEFINITELY not the worst thing that could happen to a human being, but I honestly feel a little sad when I see a beautiful, innocent baby in the arms of a Mormon couple. This child will most likely have NO choice whether or not she wants to be baptized. He will be forced to sit through three hours, every Sunday, of fear-programming and brainwashing instead of ex

One part of the website claims that Scientology is "the fastest growing religion in the 21st century." Ever notice that every single religion says this?

In one of the videos posted on the mormonsandgays.org website, they keep referring to homosexuality as an "issue." Sorry, but I've never thought of sexual orientation as an "issue." I'm straight. You may be gay. It's just the way it is. I see no "issue."
