I know just what you mean about the food already being blessed. this happened a lot on my mission we would go to some members house and they would give us some food with the disclaimer that it had already been blessed. I didn't want to push it but I always thought to myself "so what, it is not an ordinance, it should just be giving thanks for what you are eating not something you just chec

So the whole blessing the food thing was something that always bothered me in the church. People always acted like it was some sacred ordinance that if not preformed will cause your food to turn into toxic bites of death. The whole thing in Mormonism is turned into a completely empty prayer where you say the same damn things over and over without giving it any thought. I always hated how insin

So all of the talk about polygamy lately got me thinking more about Fanny Alger. I looks to me that there is no record of her and Joseph Smith actually being married. I think a lot of it depends on what you knew. I know on my mission I did not really know about all the issues surrounding the church, so I don't feel like I was dishonest. I do how ever feel some guilt because I led people who trusted me astray, I did not try to find out both sides of the story but I just went along with what I was told. I don't think it is something that I should beat my self

Mormons have lots of beliefs that now that I am out really just seem crazy. I think one of the ones that always makes me shake my head is how they see satan. They think that they are locked in a epic battle with him. You can always hear them talk about how smart he is and how he is trying to bring them and the church down. It is literary the belief that an evil invisible man and his host of
