Now I have the gall to do that after being out over a year. Can't say I would have had the nerve with just being out a few months. But I DO LOVe that idea!!

This June was the resignation event in Salt Lake, I wasn't able to go, but did post in the event page. My step-mother-in-law and brother-in-law saw the post as well as my uncle asking if I had left the church. I felt that the cat was out of the bag so to speak and so I outed myself to everyone on my facebook page. Thought that I would share it here. The comments were mostly awesome. Owning my

Yeah I put my fb friends into groups too! I have a "church" group that can't see when i check in at a bar, or post a pic of my new fav drink. Or any other instance that would be too uncomfortable to share with them. Though everyone on my fb does now know that I am out. Posted on the resignation page, which was public and my step mother in law and brother-in-law happened to following

thanks for the lines. It helps me realize that there is a difference between last year's blowup and this year. Last year I was falling apart, and hadn't gathered confidence or the composure to talk about my leaving with any mormons. It was a work in progress, I was still figuring things out. Now I have had over a year and a half since stopping belief and am more capable of discussing my dec

I were there I would give you a hug! You dont deserve their kind of caring, which is sad and cruel. I hope that your wife makes it through. How amazing, 52 years, an inspiration!

Last year I had a huge blowout with my LDS mother-in-law. the blowout started because of my now differing beliefs and...coffee! On our drive to Colorado she would point out every starbucks she saw and asked if I wanted to stop and get some more coffee, since I started the 5 a.m. day with coffee. By the time we were at my sil's at the end of the day, with my keys in hand, she asked if I was going

I naturally am very anxious. I have been in school for the past nine months and am excited to be done for the summer. So I invited a bunch of people that I have met that are out of the church. There are about 5-10 people that are planning on coming. I am anxious about it being just right, the food, atmosphere, drinks, etc.I am also hoping my kids stay in bed, thats another stressful factor, hopi

I remember when I went in for my interview before going to the Temple I asked the bishop if garments stayed on druring sex. He said that it was up to me. I asked this because the only people that I had ever seen in garments before were my grandparents. I lived with them for a year. I remember that they had the one piece garments with holes in the bottom of them, so I was truly curious. I also ha

there are some groups of exmormons on postmormon.org. I know some from the Salt Lake group have a list of good therapists. I can check to see if someone from the Utah County postmormon group might have that list. Oh and there is a Utah County exmormon group on postmormon.org as well.

Re to Don Bagley: "Specifically Thomas McBride. I believe it was one of his daughters who married a man named Pope, and gave birth to three Pope girls, all of whom married Emanuel Bagley and formed a polygamous mega family (thirty five children). One of those kids was John Henry Bagley, my paternal grandfather who died long before my birth. Sound familiar?" I had to go look it

I am married to a man that is great to me. We have been married 11 years, together for 13. He left the church a little more than a month before I did. He was Bic to a dad that is well known in the church. I was born to a jackmormon mother who has a line of mormons down to the first members, one whom was murdered at Hans Mill. We have 4 children, 2 girls, 2 boys. Only our oldest is baptized, thoug

you posted this, "These drugs were created for a reason. They are controlled for a reason. If you are taking them to abuse them, you need to stop it. You are making the people who legitimately need them suffer even more." under what I typed. My spouse does legitimately need the medication, I thought I specified that.

My husband has to take this. He has been on sleeping meds for a very long time and needs them. He is immune to the over the counter, can take multiple boxes of them and have them do nothing. He was on lunesta and amitriptylene (not at the same time) and grew immune to those as well. He is now on ambien and it works as long as he is in bed when it takes effect, other wise the effects pass him by a

The other night I called out my youngest sons name and my husband just blurts out, "That was my Temple name." Wow so now he tells me! Its seems a little weird now that our son has the name that my husband got in the temple and he didn't tell me many years after naming our son. Guess it was too sacred (secret) to tell me before we were out. I love my son and nothing against the name, it

It has been barely six months since we left. So nothing super huge yet. But since not having to pay a few hundred in tithing a month I am now able to pay an extremly reasonably priced preschool for my youngest child to attend three days a week. All of my kids are occupied and I am able to start college! Without the extra money I would not be able to afford preschool or the extra little things lik
