You have the answer right here when you said "I have a letter from the records department in Salt Lake City same I am no longer a member.". Send him a copy, tell him to fix the records error and please do not contact you. Easy peasy.

One of the times I went to a UU meeting they were discussing their annual pledge drive(?) and what they did with the money. A sort of a housekeeping meeting. I left with my mind blown for two reasons 1 The lady that was discussing the donations said "don't give till it hurts...it's not supposed to hurt". I was like WTF!. Did she say it is okay not to give over other bills and such. I

The expanse is based upon the first book of a 5 or 6 book series. I'm into book 4 and the church comes off looking okay I guess. It really was a "pick an odd religion" and run with it as part of the books. The one missionary that the run into was funny. I don't remember that scene from the book.

Send them a short email that says "If you have concerns about the church going habits of our children please talk to DH and I at the same time. It is disrespectful otherwise"...or something akin to that to get the message across that you are setting a boundary AND not happy at the same time. If they push a harsher email can follow, and CC it to your husband so he knows that you are sett

I think for the most part it is simply a trained response. They use it like "long time no see...how's it hanging?" Most members just do it from rote.

My FIL put that up about 6 months ago and I hammered it. I called it 'American Taliban' by calling the girl 'sh!t covered" and filthy and would not back down. Even my wife was embarrassed for her father. I finally walked away and promised my wife I would not engage due to him being a stuck-in-the-mud morg/bigot. Just thinking of that post pisses me off.

Why is number 17 even included in a form on preparedness? I'm amazed how obsessed the church is with porn/anti-material/etc. that they include a question on computer filters in a preparedness form.

1. Were you born in the covenant (BIC)? No 2. Were you born in Utah? No. 3. Have you lived most of your life in Utah? No. 4. Were you an Eagle Scout? No. Our ward had a scout program but they kept calling leaders every few months and the program SUCKED! 5. Did you earn your Duty to God Award or YW Gold Medallion? (I think that is what it was called) No 6. Did you serve a mission?

The first item was about coinage. They said that the heading for Alma 11 said coinage, but it was wrong and it did not MEAN coinage. Their video showed the heading as reading thus: Nephite coinage set forth I went to the LDS.org website to read Alma 11 and noticed they have edited the heading to read thus: The Nephite monetary system is set forth It makes them look bad when the church

Two cats...Hairball was dumped and we adopted him. He's insecure, whiney, hates being rubbed and sooooo much like me. He's mine. My wife has a black kitty that's 3 months old and is named Kit-Kat. He's a purrer, cuddles and everything my cat isn't...and is so much like my wife.

I found a copy of the 2006 online and it does not mention this as an exemption and neither does the 1999 copy. I suspect that this is a local thing and it is up to the Bishop. Damn! I was hoping that me simply saying 'not comfortable' would defize the situation. Unless the church got way more liberal between 2006 and 2010 then it looks like she's going to have to tithe to get her TR>

24. Tithing
I once had an electronic copy of the church handbook and cannot find it to get an answer to a question I need. If a family is split religiously is it in the handbook that to keep the peace a person can skip tithing and still get a temple recommend. I say this because my wife wants her TR, but I am not confortable with her tithing. I thought there was an exemption in cases like ours. I would ne

DH has asked that I still attend with him and slowly start attending another church. I'll probably start out skipping 1x a month, and then 2x, and so on Say that since you are going to his church that he ought to go to yours on the days that are yours. A nice balance.

I like to do this every so often just to see the responces I give myself. When I first started the answers I gave were more angry, but I have mellowed with age...here goes. Do you have faith in and a testimony of God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost? No. I think there might have been a teacher named Jesus...but that's it. Do you have a testimony of the Atonemen

The missionaries dropped by a few weeks ago and mentioned something that I've never heard before. They said they were the first pair back in our ward. I asked what that meant and they said our ward had been without missionaries for a while. Now this surprised me as the ward had a lot of growth about 10-5 years ago. Not due to growth, but population moving from the local large town to our lower cr

Thanks. I now will break the news to my wife...the painful part of the process. I love her without limits, but with the church being involved in so many anti-gay efforts and the general 'women are seperate but equal' BS I finally need to part ways. I think politics is what has finally made me make the choice. To much religion and politics mixing and I want nothing to do with it and being even a m
