I try to be nice and not use severe words like this. I try to give everyone a chance, but you know, I really hate them, I just do. Those folks that say "don't say hate, hate is a strong word," they should make an exception for these dickwads.

Quite a few TBMs in my singles ward. One was playing Family Feud but forgot to turn the sound off. "Survey Says?" then boomed loudly through the sacrament meeting. The Relief Society women were all chuckling, but the priesthood men were rigidly stone faced. I think the priesthood turns you into a cyborg.

You do have a valid point. Thanks to RfM, I already have an abundance of material. I just hope someone else watches it and reports back on the sexism, homophobia etc.

I just sent in my resignation letter, so I'll be watching the conference for more ignorant material. I have to have some stuff to throw at the bishop or mishies if they try to come save me from "The Adversary" or "The Man Downstairs" (ergh)

Hopefully soon to be ex-Mormon with Bipolar Disorder here. (sent resignation letter.) The Mormon church and everything involved in it made my symptoms WORSE. Worse mania, worse depression, worse everything. At one point, I told the Bishop I was extremely manic and needed to take some time off from the ward. He then decided to recruit all the leaders and missionaries to call and harass me, tell

18. Re: UCC
Thanks for the suggestion. From their website it looks like they're very mission focused, which is appealing. Our singles ward only did service projects once a quarter. *Lame*

I must admit, I do love Rupaul's Drag Race. It doesn't have much substance, but Michelle Visage cracks me up like no other.

I did not see the request. I will have to check that out. I'd definitely be up for sharing about the crazy YSA ward. By the way, the whole singles ward concept is so strange!! (random thought)

Thanks for the ideas! I hadn't thought about seeking an LGBT book club. I've been looking for a book club, so that is something I will definitely check out! I go to church for the meditation/prayer/liturgy part too, so I will still be seeking that out. Dining groups is a great suggestion too. What search terms should I put in Google to find one? "LGBT dining group"?

Awesome intjsegry. This response would definitely provide a great testimony (they've ruined that word) toward my reasons for quitting. Off topic...INTJ, is that your Myers-Briggs Type Indicator?

I'm not terribly resentful toward the missionaries/ward officials. It's mostly Monson, Oaks, Holland, Packer and the other high wizards of the cult that get under my skin. If it were the high wizards, I'd say fu%$ off and have many other choice and nasty words for them.

Remorse is right! Still not sure what I'm going to say to the Bishop when he calls. "My beliefs do not align with those of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Therefore, I can't feel the Spirit or generate a sincere testimony." Maybe?

That is awesome! I am definitely motivated to go check it out. Did you leave TSCC because of their hatefulness?

Thanks for the suggestion. There is one fairly close to my neighborhood. Have you attended a service? If so, what are they like?

Yes, you have that exactly right. At least now I won't have to listen to "Put your Shoulder to the Wheel" ugh.

I'd like to establish a community with a mix of straight and gay people. I generally fit in better with heterosexuals. Most of the gay men in my city (Columbus Ohio) don't really relate well to nerdy and socially awkward people. Through TSCC and the Evangelical church, I was able to find some introverted nerdy people. I had to sit through a 40 minute presentation about why homosexuality is a s
