Yes! I have never met anyone else who remembers that movie. You are right too, it was pretty creepy.

I saw it at the theater when it came out! I remember it being really silly. While were on the subject of obscure movies, does anyone remember the raggedy ann and andy movie? I saw that movie in the theater when I was a kid and I still haven't entirely recovered. I locked my stuffed animals in the bathroom every night before bed after seeing that movie!

They certainly will lend a hand and help someone moving into the parish. The difference, however, is that the person receiving the help will offer everyone a beer after they have finished moving all his stuff.

You just described my in-laws' house. They have the "no empty places" in their dining room. They also have the signs with inspirational words that someone else mentioned. In addition, they also have books displayed prominently as decorations. Some of these books are mormon themed picture books on stands but some are purely decorative, they are pretend books; books with only the title on

I read that book, the Poet and the Murderer. It was a free kindle book at the time. Not sure if it still is. It is a great book. I had never realized the extent of his forgeries. I had always thought his forgeries were all mormon related. It seems that anything that has gone through Mark's hands is suspect. One may have bought something entirely legit but if its provenance includes Mark Hoffman a

EXACTLY! You are exactly right when you say, "Just because a church's dogma says something doesn't make it true." I remember a poster on here (can't remember who) promised that in her church we would get to be with our families forever AND we would get a cupcake. How could anyone turn down that deal?

I am a huge fan of Bona Dea. I find her to be extremely thoughtful and intelligent. I appreciate that she is able to see an issue from different angles. I suspect that, though my own views on politics and religion are very different than hers (I am a conservative Catholic), she and I would be able to have a respectful, intelligent conversation regarding those issues. This is because we both recog

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who has noticed this strange phenomenon. Why do you think they are so fleshy? It is as though mormon men never lose their baby fat.

Ok, I know this is going to sound weird but I think many mormons (especially the men) look fleshy. Not really fat, just fleshy, fleshy faced, soft and squishy.

I think you are exactly right, Ed. It is the things that they are embarassed about that they don't want being discussed. My hunsband mentioned the temple aprons in front of his mormon sister and she completely denied that anyone wore an apron in the temple!

there is a woman named Cora Evans. She is not a saint yet, but it is likely she will be one day. She is a mormon convert to Catholicism. I think she converted in the 30's. Google her name for more info.

I agree with you. I love the mass as well. Never find it boring. Also a big fan of Theology of the Body.

I have never heard the term "pillow grind" and I can't stop laughing. Did you make that up or has this term been around for a while? Anyway, definitely give him the "pillow grind" if only so you can use that saying again when you return and report.

Excellent observation, I hadn't really put my finger on what it was about him that I just don't like. I totally agree with your assessment.

This is similar to what my major problem with them is. I am disgusted with the fact that they don't tell people what they are all about before they are converted. If they told prospective converts upfront about all their beliefs and then people still wanted to join, ok, more power to them. I hate that they are deceitful and trick people into converting.

I love it. I am also a Catholic and have lots of crosses, virgin of Guadalupe pictures and crucifixes. One time my tbm father in law said to me, "mormons don't like crosses." I replied, "hmm, interesting. You know who else doesn't like the cross....SATAN" bwwaaahaaa

She is probably lying. I have noticed that mormons do this a lot in the comments section of articles as well. I think they think it gives them more credibility, "I'm not mormon but I think mormons are the nicest, smartest and most attractive people in the world and since I am not mormon you can't think I have an ulterior motive."

Erica, I know exactly what you are talking about. My husband's family is mormon (he is not) and our kids are totally the lowest on the totem pole, and there is a totem pole. The sad thing is that all the grandkids know the ranking of the totem pole. The kids of the most active parents are on the top and then it descends in order of parent's "mormon worthiness"

oh crap! I was just reading another thread and now I see that I was wrong. "white and delightsome" seems to have been changed to "pure and delightsome." Now they will probably just respond with, "no, you are wrong, white and delightsome was not changed to light and delightsome. We don't know where you are getting your information from but that is just an anti-mormon lie!&
