If you can afford to not put your kids into a physical school, then the best answer is not to. I believe schools are giving people a choice as there are some people who really can't afford to have their kids at home. Hopefully schools will have very, very few students there, and that works out best for everyone. My school district says that I can change my decision midway thru this semester or

Birth rates. If the TSCC can keep the member birth rate above 3 kids per family, that allows for one to leave and the other 2 to replace the parents. This will ensure no decline. They are doing just fine, even with 33% of baptized members leaving. This is just as you said, birth rates decline and the church power is gone.

I switched to Calvin Klein white boxer briefs and undershirts. A bit pricey but I like them much better than magic undies.

The majority of my coworkers are first generation from India. These young men and women are probably in the top 5 percent of India's smartest students. They are extremely good at following directions and have excellent attention to detail. I'm just speaking in generalities here, but it doesn't surprise me at all.

I went on a mission because my parents helped me with college tuition. I figured I would give this TBM thing a try. I did my best and followed the rules. I dropped church as soon as I was on my own. No mushroom cloud, just doing my best while punching-the-clock.

That rich guy is very smart too. If you have to find someone to spend eternity with, you had better screen a lot of people. Just think of the millions of spirit children he is going to have. and his own planet to manage too. You need the perfect mate to get that task done. <face palm>

I know that there is no god or justice in life when I see the Stanley Cup south of the border. I am fully behind the leafs. Starvation, abuse and corruption just help to confirm my thoughts about god and justice.

I loved the comment from the article "I hope she likes cats". The article infers that she told the 300 wedding guests the real reason for calling off the wedding. I don't have a problem with her expectations, just how she handled the situation. Maybe she thought that if she can't have him, no one else should.

If you asked my wife, she would tell you that she has been effectively married to a robot for 20 years now. I have my good points, but touchy-feely is not one of them.

+100 I depend on my car. I would have to change my life greatly if I did not have one. I don't love my car. Having sex with a machine is ma$terbation. The movie "Her" is much more likely than marrying a robot.

In thinking back to when I was there, it seemed that the most dedicated missionaries were more about moving up the ladder (maybe it would impress a young lady in the future). I did meet one or two TBM missionaries who appeared to be sincerely motivated for the salvation of others... this could have been Dunning-Kruger mixed with their personality. Where did I fit in? I realized it was a crock of

My wife uses it all the time. I usually save the install exe, but I can't find it now. I have been making backups of her laptop, but if the hardware dies so does Picasa. I run Ubuntu instead of Windows so I personally use Shotwell.

If you were given a baby blessing, they consider that enough to call you a "member". I stopped going to church after my first son had a baby blessing. He was contacted by Jr high classmates at school. They were cool about it when he explained that he has never attended church nor baptized. Has not been hassled since.

I officially resigned. It has kept members and missionaries away. My TBM sister has to leave her voicemail full so she won't get messages from other members.

They truly don't know disappointment and rejection until they have completed their mission. Hopefully it will be less than the 2 year amount. I am very thankful that my boys have negative interest in religion and church (the credit really goes to my TBM parents). Hopefully they will have 2 years college under their belt at age 20.

Was the 2015 declaration identified as revelation? I'm thinking that there is a lot of church policy that doesn't fall under the revelation classification.

I think the bishop was just trying to justify giving no support. I think he followed the TSCC guidelines on this issue. I hope the little bish is enjoying his powertrip... cause that is the only thing he is going to get for all the time and effort he's put in. What a waste!

“Mormonism used to keep about three-quarters of its adherents. Among young adults it is now retaining less than half.” For family sizes of 4 kids or less, they will not be able to retain the replacements for the parents. I see that as a net decline in church membership. Keep working that bedside notepad Nelson... you will need real revelation to solve this problem.

I don't live in Idaho, but my teen son has always brought home permission forms for sex education. I signed them every time. He is in a large public school district. I want to think that 90% of parents are signing the forms. I am hoping that vaccination rates are the same too. I am so very fortunate that my first girlfriend was on birth control. I did not have very good sex education when I was
