I am starting a meet-up group for exmormons in Tooele county. I would like it to be an outlet for anyone who is thinking about leaving, in the process of leaving, or has already left the LDS church. It's a chance to get to know people, share our stories, and heal ourselves through talking about our past or present struggles with Mormonism. I'm thinking of meeting twice a month somewhere public

each day of rest our eyes forced open our ears ringing with eternal truths spoken by a mortal man in an ill-fitting suit salvation and love compliance and happiness our minds knew what our hearts could not and still we let him shake his finger in our obedient faces blocks of granite strapped to our young backs our hearts cried silently for our little sins and we sat with curved

I've been away from the board for a while, but I'm curious as to whether newnameabigail ever got things sorted out with the creepy, psycho-stalker bishop. I hope newnameabigail is well and safe. Sorry to be out of the loop.

Knight in Waiting, I obviously have no idea who you are in real life, but I just want to tell you that I like you, whoever you are. I think you're cool. I think you're an all-around great human being. Keep up the good work. :) Best, nurshandstrengthen

I figure I'll probably end up looking bad when I'm old anyway. Might as well have some cool art and a great memory to go along with it. :)

THANK YOU, everyone, for the advice! You've helped me feel a lot better! There are a few family members in particular whom I KNOW will not approve of the tattoo. But I am so excited to get it... I will wear it proudly! :)

My husband (nevermo) and I (exmo) are getting tattoos this weekend. (Individual tattoos... not matching ones or anything!) They're going to be in visible places on our bodies where they will NOT be able to be kept secret for very long! How do I break it to TBM family members who I visit often? I figured I could do one of two things: 1) Tell the family members whose reactions I am most afraid o

I went to a rodeo (in Utah) last night and they started with an opening prayer. So that was interesting.

One part that made me cringe was when Josh, this normal, healthy-looking, 19-ish year old man, said something like, "My sex drive is just gone." I found that really sad and... unnatural??

Okay, so you can watch the Meet the Mormons documentary here (it's about 45 minutes long): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jORAciyGk4 There is one part that really pisses me off (among all of the other bullsh!tty weirdness). After the interviewer asks that kid at the dance about his sexual experience, the "minder" who's always following them takes her aside and says that she is

Missionaries came to visit me at my home in Utah. They said they wanted to give me something that could bring me even more happiness. I don't know why, but I was surprised to hear missionaries all the way over in England saying the same thing on this documentary. Kinda makes it seem like a sales pitch.
