You are not alone my friend. I realize that I was brainwashed from a very young age and a people pleaser so I try to go easy on the self judgment. In walking away from Mormondum I have also learned to walk away from Judgment because the two go hand in hand. Love does miracles. Best wishes

One of my biggest red flags. Major contradiction to the God of Love that I believe in. Book of Mormon is a warm up to Murder being justified. How I could be ok with it back then is what boggles my mind.

Life is good with just living the Golden Rule. When I need community or spiritual uplift, I really like The Center For Spiritual Living. I also find peace in Nature.

Like the crazy beliefs are enough to repel most.

Fear, fear, fear, obey. Nothing to dampen the spirit more. I say Love, love, love, create, grow, and expand.

Sounds like more hand holding and control to me. Much like Ricks College after my Mission.

Cheers to you and your brother. My Brother and I both bailed on the craziness after we got home from our missions. No regrets for leaving. Sadly our Sisters and Mom continue to devote themselves to it.

Heaven have Mercy. Change the location to the Beach and get a Licensed Marriage Practitioner to perform the wedding.

It was all about the end of times at least 30 years ago growing up LDS. Our food storage rotted and so did the Fear Factor. I have learned to enjoy the now and let the rest take care of itself. Yes, I have a backpack with a few items but I don't dwell on the end. The "Freak Out" plays well in a Freaky Religion that wants authority and control over it's members.

Sorry to hear that Take him on a long cruise and communicate ways to feel that void without joining a cult. He is probably looking for community or more activity more then anything. Good luck.

Something about this guy that makes me want to drive 2 hours to go support in the face of the almighty judges of Mormondum. I don't carry the Old Church beliefs anymore like he does but I admire his knowledge, sincerity, and conviction. Love is my Gospel and he certainly seems to radiate that as a follower of Christ.

I was in a daze during and after. Very weird and felt stuck. Didn't know what to do other then bow my head and go along.

Doesn't feel right to me and probably something man would create to control and dampen the human spirit.

I am to be living a free, fulfilling life outside of the chains of Mormonism. So many friends and wonderful experiences that touch my heart and lift my soul. Have come a long ways since the troubled years and bold moves. In each of you I say thank you for being real, thank you for your love, thank you for being my friends. A Marvelous work and wonder shall come forth.........oops!

Perhaps the newer versions will read Black and Beautiful to balance it all.

First time was Temple Marriage, Second time was Drive through Wedding in Vegas on a Valentines Day. And as I posted before, Just got Married in Maui on the Beach. Just covering my bases! Very Happy with the 3rd of course. I cringe whenever I hear of a sweet couple getting married in the Temple. It was not very memorable. In fact I wanted to forget about it as soon as possible. I can only h

Indiana Indy 500 Time Trial, Purdue Football Game, Pacer Basketball Game....many laughs. Not so much that I did not enjoy it, I think it set me back in finding myself and pursuing Career/Romance like most. Very few converts and interrupting a lot of lives.

We aren't alone. In fact we are not separate either like Religion would have us believe. The force is within.

I had the opportunity to sit next to George P. Lee, former general authority, at a Singles Dance and chat with him. This was many years ago, he died in 2010. He seemed much at peace with his exodus from The Mormon Hierarchy and the belief system. Like me he was there to socialize and dance in a Southern Utah City with not a lot to do on a weekend night.

I actually work for Fairmont Hotels so we are getting a killer deal in Maui. On the subject of HAI, I remember thinking, this is the way I wish things were in Temples, being in the room of love. Stan Dale was the actual founder of the Workshops. I love the slogan "Creating a World Where Everyone Wins." Harbin Hot Springs is a magical place for them. No worries, this is not a cult
