So I happened across on old gmail chat where I was talking to a friend about the Draper temple. This was back when I was a TBM (so much cring worthy garbage being spewed). Anyway, I was a contracted decorative painter for the Draper temple and while working I happened to hear how much the big bronze doors cost...$70,000.

Happened in my mission. I had a companion from Costa Rica who was AP with me. He was incredibly manipulative and constantly tried to manipulate our MP. In his last area, he ended up "baptizing" a lot of people but when it came time to get them to sign their baptismal forms, they were nowhere to be found. His companion was always on splits when these baptisms would go down. The comp h

I was wondering why it hadn't been taken out yet. I don't know about them changing it. That is what the digital version still says on lds.org. It seems like that would be the easiest version to change so I doubt there is a current effor to change it.

2 Ne. 5:21 21 "And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.&q

Please tell me about a competition that isn't narcissistic. I couldn't care less if people don't like it but when someone says "it isn't healthy" that is a statement of fact.

You can have your opinion but you are making statements of fact. >"The vast majority of the competitors exit with eating disorders, depression, and metabolic damage." Got a source for that?

Just because you are close to someone that does it doesn't mean you get it--you obviously don't. Of course I'm going to get defensive, you are painting with an incredibly broad brush and making character assumptions. We know plenty of people in the industry and I have never heard of or seen anyone else use a corset. I'm sure it happens, but it isn't a standard thing. You can be competitive withou

Different strokes for different folks. You are sounding awfully TBM at the moment. Maybe talk to someone that does it. Ask questions about how it works, their motivation, diet and otherwise. You might learn a thing or two.You are assuming way too much. Or you can just chill on the sidelines of cynicism and be a hater.

My wife is a competitor and an exmo. She never would have done it as a TBM because of all the ridiculous talk about modesty. She has fallen in love with working out, eats healthier, takes supplements that she researches and now lifting is a hobby we can share together. I love that she competes and I support her 100%. Also, it can be expensive but not $2000. My wife spent $100 for her NPC c

youtube "Lying for the Lord" It is a video by Flackerman Also, GBH lied about polygamy and the doctrine regarding God and his origin when talking to Larry King and Time magazine. From Time: Van Biema asked President Hinckley directly: “Is the teaching of the church today that God the Father was once a man like we are?” Hinckley’s response was baffling as he himself s

I really don't like public prayer. My wife competes in NPC shows. She had one 2 weeks ago and I went to watch and support her. At the beginning of the night show in a sold out theater, they opened with a 20 minute prayer! After what seemed like an eternity the pastor dude said "amen" and I blurted out a very loud "finally!" which was met with plenty of glares from the othe

As others have stated, Joseph had plenty of wives. If the Church didn't believe that, they wouldn't sell Rough Stone Rolling at Deseret Book. Also, I never understood why everyone seems to make a huge distinction between Brigham as a polygamist and Joseph.I don't see how it would change much if Joseph was truly a monogamist and condemned polygamy. If this were true, it would mean the church qu

----UPDATE: I met with the bishop---- I was much more nervous than I had anticipated as I pulled into the church parking lot. I wasn’t sure how I would feel walking into the foyer and possibly seeing some of the members of the ward. I had to go in my Navy uniform because I was coming straight from work. I thought maybe they would just figure I had been deployed or something seeing as how I l

Why not? I am immune to anything that he would say. I like discussing my disaffection. It would also be great if I were to go to the meeting at the Church and see some of the members. They would undoubtedly come talk to me and ask where I have been. Then, with a big smile I could tell them that I left the church and was only there to resign. Then I would just stand there smiling as they awkwa
