I never did notice that, but I live in Montana. It's probably similar to JW's windowless buildings. If you don't have windows nobody can throw rocks through them...if you have tall fences, it's harder to throw rocks through the windows.

Thanks for sharing. I have a friend who did an anthropology project on this very topic.

jI've seen that too. I showed a little reserve, but asked one of my friends what scientist argues that a cell in a pregnant woman said it wasn't life, and pointed out that without science, they wouldn't have any clue about cells, they would still think because they were good god gave them a child. I couldn't resist pointing out scientists would let it be and see how it developes and evolves, wh

Some other online stuff. It's all human evolution related, but well worth poking around the websites. http://www.becominghuman.org/ http://australianmuseum.net.au/Human-Evolution Those are the only ones I can think of now. If I remember the others I'll post them.

I should add that I have a degree in Anthropology and have done a lot of reading and research on the topic. There are some very interesting on-line resources too. Here is a good place to start. http://penn.museum/sites/surviving/index.html The Smithsonian is also a great resource. http://humanorigins.si.edu/ There are many more, if you would like I'll post them.

A great book about evolution that explains a lot that stays away from religion is "Why Evolution Is True" by Jerry A. Coyne. I found this one to be very informational. Another good one is is "The Making of the Fittest: DNA and the Ultimate Forensic Record of Evolution" by Sean B. Carroll. If you are more interested in human evolution, I highly recommend "The Dawn o

General Conference is upon us. I have already received invites via facebook to watch conference and mission reunion invitations. The only way I would go to either of those is if someone broke my arms and legs so I couldn't even crawl away, or wearing nothing but tie-dyed garments. I will instead be going up into the mountains to admire the beauty of science and evolution with my girlfriend

Heard a song yesterday, the lyrics reminded me of sacrament, and tscc members. If you ask me questions, I will show you answers... But they will not listen 'cause their souls are missing they're just mindless specters looking like court jesters. I'm not implying they have no soul, however, in my experience, even if tbms ask questions, they won't listen to our answers, they just mindlessly

I myself am atheist. My girlfriend is pagan. I have noticed that quite a few ex-mos have gone on to be pagan, including one of my best friends and my sister. I was just curious how many of us have turned to paganism.

When my sister died she was buried in temple clothes and she had never been through the temple. I plan on being donated to science, then cremated, that way I don't have to worry about being buried in temple clothes.

Even if it is wrong I wouldn't regret it, it's a good way to live. Or something like that.

Kudos to you for being assertive. I'm all about being honest, but no offensive. I live in Montana too, and the nine month winters do suck. I'm in Bozeman, the people I know and have met here have been really open minded and open to other peoples ideas, however, I was never an active member here, so I don't know hardly any morgbots.

I had a family reunion last weekend in the mountains of Utah (Price area). I'm exmo, my girlfriend is nevermo, and all of my family is TBM. My male cousins were looking all over for hymn books. I didn't think much of it. A while later I noticed that I was the lone guy among all the women. As I realized this and wondered where they all went, my girlfriend pointed and asked me what was going o

The only verbal advice I ever remember getting was don't fight, if it's coming to that, take a walk and cool down until you can discuss things rationally. That was it. I don't think anything is taught because they don't know how to treat their spouse properly because they were never taught. Missions are pushed in YM, not marriage and how to develop a healthy loving relationship. When a man ge

I'd say send it. I have a few gay friends that I have actually not talked to much because they moved to different states. A letter might open up communication. You may find that some friends are more tolerant than you think, they just never had the opportunity to talk to you about it. In fact, I'm chatting with one on facebook now, I'm going to tell him what a good guy he is and thanks for th

We are laughing with them, but we are not laughing for the same reason. They are so oblivious and don't realize how ridiculous they sound.

I have really tried to like coffee, tea, and alcohol. I just can't seem to like it. But it is so nice to be able to go out with friends and have a drink, even though they tease me for liking the "weak" drinks, without church attachments, and feeling like I'm always being judged. I say have fun experimenting.

I was filling out a resume and realized that I have the huge two-year gap where I don't have work history. I don't want to put that I was a mormon missionary, or was a volunteer representative of the church, or even that I was on a religious volunteer mission. I'm still at loss as how to explain one of the worst choices in my life. Any ideas or suggestions?

Just regular boxers. Shortly after I got my garments I was sleeping commando because they were so uncomfortable, and I'd already thrown out my normal underwear, I rolled over and somehow crushed the family jewels...not sure how, it's not like boxers provide much more support. I think that is the fastest I've ever woken up.

A punishment because if I didn't leave I'd be going to church, having callings, home teaching, giving talks, and all the other crap I didn't want to do. I couldn't wait to get out of my parents house so i could go inactive. I hated church, but the thought had not yet crossed my mind that it was false. A punishment because now that I'm out, they won't leave me alone. A punishment because

I told my TBM mom once that I thought the Boise, Idaho temple was ugly. I got a huge lecture that no house of the lord is ugly. There are a lot of ugly temples.

That is a great song. yes has some good stuff. I Can't remember the song off hand but they have one that says "There's a time and the time is when it's right for me" or something like that. The time was certainly right for me to leave.
