This is what I thought about after watching: Consider this: The LDS church prohibits masturbation, which creates sexual frustration. They then encourage their return missionaries age 20-22 to get married as soon as possible and sex and even touching is a sin. The young women of the same age are told to find themselves a RM at the same age and marry as soon as possible. Therefore, these young

I sent my letter about a month ago. Last week, my mom told me she was getting phone calls asking for me. She knows I want absolutely nothing to do with the church and it is a very uncomfortable topic between us. She is also a terrible liar. She chickened out and couldn't bring herself to tell me who was calling. She said it was some bank. I haven't lived with her in over 13 years. No bank

I did not know that you don't even have to go to meetings or accept callings to get a temple recommend. All they want is money. I'm so glad I only went to the temple once for dead dunking.

Yeah, I'm sure most people will ignore historical fact and scientific evidence to follow bigoted polygamists. http://www.mormontimes.com/article/19393/Anti-Mormon-mockery-can-actually-lead-to-teaching-moments

Even if your wife doesn't listen to you, don't give up on your kids!! I had a hard time growing up in this "church", I wouldn't wish it on any child!

I've been pregnant two times. I do not have the desire to go through that again, ever. In the CK I have to be pregnant forever? Sounds more like hell to me.

I pretty much thought that it was some kind of blessing, I just didn't think it would last 30-45 minutes.

Sweet Z, no my friend was about to follow her in to take pictures, and the bride said no, not for this. So she knew about it in advance.

I left the mormon church the day I turned 18. I have never attended a mormon wedding, so I don't really know that much about them. Years ago, a friend of mine was asked to photograph a mormon wedding, and the bride asked her to get there early to take pictures of the preparations. Here's her question: At one point, she was taken into the bedroom that she had been using to get ready in by he

Thanks honestone. I actually did tell her everything you just suggested. She said "Thanks for opening my eyes". I told her she has to look at some of the books I recommended based on these posts because the missionaries will be after her. We'll see how it goes...

Yes, he should go to prison for life. Suicide would save the taxpayers some money, though. Sexual predators are ALWAYS repeat offenders, no matter how many times they go to prison. Do you want his kids to be abused by their own father? Even if he has "repented" and moved on, do you want to bet his kids' safety on that?

Wow, thanks for all the book suggestions! I took Leah and Caedmon's advice. I just told her about polygamy and what would be expected of her if she married in the temple. She is quite shocked and ready to hear more. Hopefully, I can get her to go to the library so she can see for herself.

Hey, I'm talking to someone who is investigating mormonism and at first, she was completely sure that is was true and that she was feeling the spirit. She has agreed to do a little research, and is asking me about books she could read. Is there any organization that provides free material? I know, the internet is much better, but she doesn't seem to want to use it.

What do you expect from the cheapest wonder bread money can buy? My husband was shocked when I told him mormons use this for sacrament. He was raised Romanian Orthodox, and the old ladies in the church would spend the day before baking their best bread for their version of sacrament.

The worst I experience with my family is not only the superiority mormons display about their religion, but in every aspect of their lives. My brother treats my husband and I as beneath him, even though he still lives with my mom at age 27, and as a RM is still unmarried with no kids. He thinks his job is better (it's not), his house is better (it's not even his house) and that he knows more th

In my ward, I swear they were having a competition to see who could feel the "spirit" the most. The members would sob themselves into incoherency over the dumbest things.

My problem is, I have too much of a bite. I have to hold my tongue sometimes, especially if my kids are around, and they usually are when I'm with my mom.

Ugh, this really disgusts me. I was on the mormontimes website today, and every third story was about relief in Haiti. I was so repulsed with such a blatant lie. Thanks for the links, I know a couple of people that need to see this.

My dad was a convert, my mom born to a TBM family. My mom absolutely hated my "other" grandma because she wasn't mormon. My grandma lost her husband when her kids were young, and she struggled to raise them on her own. When they were all grown and moved out, she was completely alone. The only grandkids she had were the five in my family and we lived six hours away. She wrote letter

Of course! I knew it would be Carmel. I worked at Crooked Stick Golf Club 10 years ago while taking classes at IUPUI. The supreme rich people in Carmel like their alcohol, and they also like controlling everything that goes on in that town. Good luck with that missionaries...

Why the name "El Santo Gringo"? The Mexicans I know use the word gringo as a derogatory reference to white people. Kind of like saying stupid white man. So I guess it's "The stupid white saint"?

My brother's idea of food storage is meat. He hunts as many deer as he can, fishes at least twice a month, and comes home with hundreds of fish. He buys a whole cow once a year. He has almost filled the garage with freezers for all of his meat. He and my mom are the only ones living in the house. I was laid off in August and was struggling to buy groceries for a couple of months. My mom dec

I'm fairly new here. I've read things off and on for about three years, but just started commenting the past week. I would go if there were something organized for this area. Here's a question for Indy residents. I remember in the late 1980's to early 1990's, I would see missionaries around the city and sometimes suburbs. I haven't seen a mormon missionary in Indy for at least ten years.

Do you think this means they are going to put more missionaries here as well? Good reason to tell people not to google it. They don't want anyone knowing ahead of time it's a load of crap.
