Myself and my siblings (who no longer attend) do not call upon any mormon church for help and my parents stopped suggesting. I guess they figured we were damned as it is, so we shouldn't be wasting church resources any longer...

That is just like my parents too. You call and tell them something important in life and they will not repeat it. Why? "We don't like to gossip." is what my mother tells us. I told her one time, "if we tell you good news, it is okay to tell others, to share in the excitement and joy. If it is personal and we ask you not to share, then you don't." "It's easier to

Your absolutely right. The sad part, is it happens late in life, and they will only be bitter. Not towards TSCC, but towards their family - their children and grandchildren who are no longer around to help them as they have moved on in life. They won't be upset at TSCC, because they will continue on in their blind faith, and say, "yes, you are correct, we should not be a burden on our church

If you are eligible to adopt this little girl, you are eligible to adopt another girl. Be honest, and let the lady place her daughter in a mormon family. My wife and I have adopted a child. The process is difficult, as it should be, to make sure parents who want to adopt are people who will raise the child in a loving and caring environment. Yes, sometimes people slip under the radar, but the

Yes, my parents have alienated almost all their children, except for the two still going to church. Of course, they have time to talk to them all the time! A couple times a week. The church is and always will be first and foremost in thier lives. It comes before health and wellness for sure. It is heartbreaking the moment you realize your parents have no concern or love for you. But, you ha

Ha-Ha-Ha!!! 1. Challenge religious and moral values. (TSCC is the one and only true church. Your's is wrong.) 2. Advocate confrontation with spouse or family members as a means of reaching one's potential. (I am the penishood holder in this house and you will do as I say!) 3. Imitate sacred rites or ceremonies. (Temple.... too f-n funny!!!) 4. Foster physical contact among participant

My parents love their mission, love cleaning toilets, love cleaning the kitchen, the whole church in fact. They love spending time with people, as long as it's not their un-believing children. I have finally stopped putting my energy and effort into a one way relationship after an email between my mom and I: "Mom, I see on your google+ blog/journal that dad was sick for 10 days. How is

Reading your posts, could be a conversation with my parents. Their thoughts, attitudes, words, beliefs, are exactly the same. TBM to the core and it is all black and white. There is no other way. They will not even read a book I have written as it has a swear word in it. "I don't read filth."

Oh yeah... Growing up everything was about TSCC and our life was planned around TSCC and our salvation. Both my parents told us from as early as I can remember that their plan was to go on a mission when they retired - they are now on a mission. My dad told me one day, "My priorities are my salvation, the church, your mother, and then you children." And my mom is okay with this an

I have worked in Brasil for 3 years now and have seen a number of mormon missionaries, all of them say the same thing, "no, we are not getting baptisms." I asked them "why?" and they responded, "they read material that is not in our favor on the internet and not understanding that some of the old teachings were not actually from god, but from man, and men make mistakes.&q

Some of the other home school parents we know, and we belong to a non-religious homeschool group, are dual enrolled by the time they are 16, and are finished with the first two years of college by the time they graduate... well ahead of their peers. Done right, and it is a huge responsability, children will do fine and get in to any college they want.

My wife and I do not use homeschooling for religious indoctrination or to hide the kids from science or the government. We started due to my job, so I could spend time with my children when I'm home wand now it is beneficial with my son modeling so he does not,"miss" school. And, they just get a better education. They are sheltered in no way.

There are those parents who give homeschooling a bad name. The parents who use it for religious indoctrination, conspiracy theory, un-schooling (only teach when a child asks and let them learn from life - in other words no curriculum), and some do not ensure the children have proper social interaction. Done right, homeschool is better than public school. Done wrong, and you can destroy a child's

We homeschool - not for religious reasons obviously, and our children follow an online curriculum. My children are free and critical thinkers who do not believe in religion or their made up gods. They are also very involved in a homeschool group and extracurricular activities and very outgoing. Some people homeschool for the wrong reasons and the child does not get social interaction and that wil

"They also explained "translation", as in "literal translation" is, in ancient hebrew-egyptian "trans-bullshitish-oolokish" so when the church has referred to the Joseph Smith's work, they mean literally messed up bullshit." That is funny! Kudos to Lori!

Sounds like we grew up in the same family. Can't go anywhere or do anything after church on Sunday. Stay in church clothes all sunday. No coffee, tea, and in our family no caffeinated sodas. What you could do on Sunday was read scriptures and stare out the wi Dow at your friends having fun...

Very disrespectful. My grandmother divorced my grandfather years ago. My grandpa remarried and had a great marriage for 22 years, when he passed away. He told my dad on numerous occasions he did not want to be dead dunked. 1 year after he passed away, my dad not only dead dunked him, he had him sealed to his mother. I asked him why he would do that, when he was not married to his mom when he d

Family of 7 children and only 2 remained active. Church - 3 hours Scripture Reading - 1 hr on Sunday FHE - 3 hrs (from dinner to bed) Boy Scouts/penishood - 2 hrs That is about 9 hrs of "church" a week. All of it amounting to nothing beneficial. Add to that my dad being in high council or being a bishop and the only day we did see him was FHE where other kids had their fat

Using the Bible to disprove the BoM and Mormonism is like using Twilight to prove the existence of vampires. Both books are fictional and written or compiled by persons with an agenda. #9 is all one needs to disprove the BoM.

"...with no tattoo or needle marks..." Pretty judgmental with that wording. I have numerous tattooed, in fact a full sleeve and working on more and I have never ever inserted a needle in my body for drugs. Unless you meant needle marks caused by bad tattooing. Just because someone has a tattoo does not make them bad.
