Sometimes I wonder if FAIR is an elaborate attempt to destroy the Mormon church from within.

Atheism seems like a package deal for many. If you're an atheist, you're an evolutionist and accept the big bang theory. You're obsessed with science and logic. You're a liberal and want any mention of God removed from the Government. I'm not saying this is what I think of atheists (I myself am one), but this seems to be the stereotype.

That, combined with Mitt winning, would be an utter disastor for the church.

Does anyone else kind of want Mitt Romney to win the election so that the Mormon church can remain a hot subject and possibly get even hotter, shedding light on all of its issues, both to regular people and Mormons themselves? It could be the beginning of the end for Mormonism.

I absolutely hate when this excuse is tossed about to justify Mormonism's Anti-Gay stance. Sure, many of them may not HATE homosexuals (though I'm sure some, deep down, do), but how do they not realize that teaching that sexual sin is almost as bad as murder and that gays are that way because of an evil demon comes across as heavily bigoted? How do they not realize that this can be damaging to ga

They could create "marriage callings," wherein TSCC will choose for you your future spouse. When you turn 16, you are to send in your papers outlining your personality, attached with a recent picture of yourself. After a few weeks, you will recieve your marriage calling in a scarlet envelope. Upon opening the envelope, you will see a pure white folded card with the words "Celestial

I've never really understood why high heels are attractive. They aren't. They look really uncomfortable and difficult to walk in. In fact, I'd prefer that a girl just wear flat shoes.

I seriously hate the idea that men have to open doors, pull out chairs, pay for the woman's meal and so on. It's rather condescending, as if to imply that women are incable of these mundane tasks and require a manly man to do it for them. Once in priesthood meeting we were talking about date behaviour, and one of the adults in the room said that nothing bugs him more than seeing a couple who a

I think I was probably 8/10. I knew very little about the Book of Mormon, Bible, etc. but I remember praying constantly, thinking it was actually having an effect...or that I wasn't praying hard enough.

I've got one. 1. God is omniscient. In other words, he knows everything. 2. Everything includes the past present and future. If God doesn't know the future, then from whence cometh prophesies? 3. If God knows the future, which Mormons must accept, then the future must be destiny. 4. Destiny and free agency CANNOT co-exist. For example, if it is my destiny to eat an apple on the 3rd

They're also planning on building one in Rome, I believe. Mormon culture compared to Italian culutre is like a stale, bland cracker compared to gourmet chocolate.

I'd Like to submit the song Eulogy by Tool. I remember the first time I listened to it, I subconsciously thought it was about Joseph Smith.

Does it really say they just lined up and tried to attack him one by one? Even if they didn't, a group of people would easily be able to over-power one guy.

Mormons would simply shrug their shoulders and say, "the church is perfect, the members or not." But this is just evidence that God doesn't really choose these people to be Bishops.

Very slightly off topic, but what do you think Boyd K Packer's worst talk ever is? Or most 'evil,' dispicable, etc.

I'm going to copy/paste the first verse of several different books written by different authors so that you can see how different their writting styles are. (I left out 1 Nephi 1:1 becuase we've probably all read it 1000 times) 2 Nephi 1:1 "And now it came to pass that after I, Nephi, had made an end of teaching my brethren, our father, Lehi, also spake many things unto them, and reh

Evidence? I thought that even FAIR and other apologists admit that there's no evidence, their soul purpose as apologists being 'refuting' (I use the term very, very loosely in this case) arguments presented by critics.
