It would drive me crazy, trying to figure out what I did (or didn't do). I have made a solemn vow to myself to never do it. And I have kept it!

In the 50s and early 60s we were in the Walnut Creek Stake, which was huge! Then they created the Concord Stake - still covered most of Contra Costa County. I wonder where they're sending the folks now....

they didn't do the mirror thing. It was the last day the temple was open for the summer and the sealings were rushed and back-to-back. And, they combined our wedding with another couple that we didn't know, so the sealing room was crowded with people.

a year ago and love it. We live in the SF Bay Area where gas prices are ridiculous. We go for daytrips most weekends, long rides, and sometimes charge at a Supercharger, spending about $20 per trip. We don't have to have oil changed or coolant refilled. We pack up the dogs and just go. We do plan our trips around charging stations, but that's not a big deal around here. Our longest trip was to So

was a multi-stake regional meeting that took place at UC Davis in a huge auditorium. I had been busy getting my mom's house ready to sell after her death a few months before (I only had the weekends to work on her 50-year-old house). The SP actually turned his back on us when he saw us. Nobody spoke to us at all, even "friends". This was supposed a super-spiritual meeting that was go

It appears that he didn't go on a mission, if I'm doing the arithmetic correctly. Born in 1951, Bachelor in Music at 21, master's in 1974, PhD in 1976. Well, I think it's interesting, anyway, that he didn't follow the dotted line that most morgbots my age did.

I was told that during my entire mormon life. I was also told that I was a "savior on Mt Zion" because I brought my ex-husband into the church. That was a huge blessing and responsibility for both of us. He asked to be exed 20+ years ago, as he officially came out of the closet, divorcing his second wife. I think that he told a bishop or two that he was gay (he didn't tell me), be

Is that it screws up the women whom they marry and probably the kids. As a former TBM who was married to a gay man who came out of the closet after we'd been divorced for 10+ years, it still impacts my life today and affects my relationship with my current husband. We've been married for almost 35 years and it's still hard to break free of the harm that that marriage and that man inflicted on

pageant in the mid 70s. She wore a one-shoulder gown for both the state competition and the national pageants, with a bare shoulder (gasp!). Her parents were local mormon royalty and very well known.

However, most folks can't have dinner at 5:00, unless they are retired or self-employed. When our former stake instituted that rule, dinner appointments almost disappeared, so they changed the policy. Even though DH is now retired, we don't eat dinner at 5!

on one of our weekend drives. We approached from the north. It's not on a hill nor does it look like anything special. Yuba City is a small city and the population certainly can't really support a temple. We were underwhelmed.

She and her husband live in the Idaho panhandle. Both made the "informed decision" not to be vaccinated and were proud of it. Guess what!? They both got very sick with the Delta variant, requiring multiple trips to the ER. They are just now able to function a bit. They thank friends who brought in food and their medical insurance company... At least they are now inquiring about

However, I never did have much mormon art. I did have a pastel print of Jesus with children clustered around. I gave to my TBM son. My mom only had a resin statue from Nauvoo. I don't even remember what it was. That went to my son, too. Maybe I wasn't as TBM as I thought!

Got a mild case of Covid a few months ago. He hasn't had the vaccine; probably won't, given his FB rants. My husband is 78, I'm 70. We were both vaccinated as soon as we could be. Brother wants to come visit us soon, but I am wary since he's not been vaccinated. I'm thinking of telling him not to come unless he gets the vaccine. Am I right? He's from SoCal and we're in NorCal. Every instinc
