The thing I should have added is that not only is this one of the largest cities in the US, it has multiple stakes (about 15), a temple and even a black ward. The SP likes to makes his friends Bishops.

Good Witch wrote "in my mind the Church-owned Beehive clothing has permission to do that for specific reasons. This is just some dude off the street who has not been given any special kind of "authority". So, why would you pay some dude off the street who has no authority" I have to ask - Beehive Clothing got permission from who to make ugly, ill fititng, damaged underwear

A few years ago I lived just north of Dallas and was surprised to learn that many of the bishops in the Denton, Texas Stake were either the sons or the son in laws of the Stake President. One of the members of the stake presidency for the stake I lived in was also a SIL to the SP. It seemed to me the Bishops in my stake also worked for the SIL of the Denton SP. This is just more proof the ch

In one of the major cities in the US (top 10 in size and population) there is a ward whose bishop does not live within the ward boundaries. In fact he lives about 15 miles away from the ward members. This is not the first time their bishop has not lived within the ward boundaries. Both bishop did come from the same rich ward the SP lived in. I used to live in Mesa and a ward I lived in we got

On a previous thread the question was asked if anyone had ever seen a NO vote at Stake or General Conference. The answer is YES. The Stake was changing some of the Ward boundaries when a couple a few rows in front of me both stood up and objected to the changes. The inspired leaders at that time had decided to make boundary changes that moved this one couple out of the stake and into anot

Perhaps the real reason their membership and attendance is down is because as houses are sold to new owners, the new owners are not lds. Hence the need for new missions in slc. Or it might be because members have the internet and are learning the truth. I can see it now, at general conference the prophet is inspired to announce the faithful will not have internet in their homes.

This is Secret Information that only the chosen know about. Please do not mention this again or rent a large bill board saying this is the place Adam is buried. Eve is buried in Texas next to her sister wife Lilith.

Once I realized the lds religion was a phoney lie, the next chore was to determine what I really did believe. It took some time to sort through the different religions but in the end I determined that believing in a god or gods falls into the sphere of comic book fantasy. If your going to pray to an all powerful god, then the comic book God Thor would do. Green Lantern seems pretty powerful as is

As a favor, I was given a Stake Position (audio clerk). I enjoyed the job and would go out of my way to make sure the stake members had access to the audio equipment even on short notice. I got to know a lot of the members in other wards. For my first Stake Conference, I was nervous, I arrived early, set up the camera, set up the projectors in the chapel and gym, placed tv's in all the overflow r

My brother served in South Dakota then and I can assure you, he did not even teach that many people let alone baptism them. He was served dog meat for a meal. Your ex is a liar. He should be a really good TBM.

One of the hardest decisions I had to make was the decision that if the church was not true, would I accept whatever happens because of the truth. I finally allowed myself to accept the fact it was a fraud. What I had not prepared myself for was how angry I would become at learning the truth. I grew up without the internet, without access to truthful information. We had to rely on church leaders

I suppose I will get to answer the door a couple of times during the next 10 days and see the assigned friends someone at church has assigned to be friends with my wife and I. Will the VT friends or the HT friends show up first or perhaps even the bishop. If they do, they will not be invited into my home. I do not invite strangers into my home especially assigned friends. My advice - tell the

I grew up in the Mission Field and church leaders seemed to believe anyone from Utah was sent by god to help us. We had this man and wife show up when I was in high school and of course he became the early morning Seminary teacher. I used to tell the adults that he was either the most religious man I had ever meet or the biggest fraud and fraud would be my first vote. I was told that I was ju

As a child we spent most of lives influenced by church doctrines. There was no internet and the books we had access to were written by the church. We had to relied on Church Authorities and CES to provide us with the truth. We had access to Mormon Doctrine and of course the book Moses and the book of abraham. One of the very pretty blonde haired girls in our ward started dating a boy from the

My brother told me that in a ward he used to belong to, the church had paid a family 3 million dollars to drop their lawsuit against the church. A brother of the ward had been assigned to be the family's HT. The man was always made sure to fellowship the family and even sit with the family during Sacrament meeting. The man would ask the daughter (I believe she was 7) to sit on his lap during

A man would not be "called" as a Bishop or SP if his wife was not an active member. I did have a Bishop once that was removed from office for being too generous with Fast Offerings to those in need. I also had a Bishop that left his wife and children for his high school sweet heart. He would get up and preach that the teenage girls were wearing their skirts too short and giving

When I was a teenager, we had a Bishop who was an agent for the FBI. He had a cool last name since it was the same thing as the weapon he carried. I remember one Mutual night the Bishop walked up behind me, grabbed me by the neck, marched me out the front door, picked me up and threw me about 10 feet whereupon I landed on a concrete sidewalk. I felt my hands and knees burning from the blood pouri

LDS couples often believe the mothers and fathers are good mormon teenagers that just made a mistake. A TBM mormon family is needed to raise these otherwise perfect children. They believe adopted children from CPS are always just the opposite. Remember LDS adoptions are expensive (TSCC has to make money), they put you thru hell for a couple of years with no guaranty. The best way to adopt a c

One of my sisters had started a new job and the first day at work her new boss asked her to stay late and after everyone else had left, he raped her. When she got home, she told my parents she had been raped by her boss. Both my parents would not allow her to go to the hospital or file a police report. Later they told me that they were afraid the news would find out we were Mormons and it was

Uncle Dale - Are you suggesting a 14 year old boy alone in the woods sitting on a stump might have found a little factory instead? Those little forrest midgets.

Moroni had placed the Gold Plates and other records inside a version of Zip Lock bags the Nephites had. The Nephite version of Zip Lock bags contained rust proof and air proof steel zippers with a cooper coating. The bags themselves are made out of a plastic the Nephites had invented. The Church uses these bags to store spirtual items like seer stones. The Zip Lock bag in the well at the Mart

Have you ever been to the "Sacred Grove" and felt inspired? Were you really at the Sacred Grove or one of the many pretend Scared Groves the Church has created over the years? Yes folks, the church moves the actual location of the "Sacred Grove" every few years. Is the Sacred Grove just another faith building story that is not accurate?

okay, it's a little funny made me laugh. Like you, I thought they would get the joke about the 116 pages being in a Zip Lock bag. I guess when you have paid big money to hear "faith" based histories, truth is not as important as the story. As a side note - No one knows which well on the Martin Harris property was the one Joesph Smith dug. It may well have been the one under the blac

A few years ago my inlaws lived in the Martin Harris house and we went to visit them during the summer. We of course stayed at the house with them. While we were there, the Hill Cumorah Pageant started and every day bus loads of mormon tourist would stop by the house on their way to historic sites. The tour guides would tell these faith promoting stories about the house and the well Joesph Smith

Do not forget the big shots get to go hunting on Hill Cumorah. One summer I took my kids trout fishing on Hill Cumorah. We had to do catch and release. Still a lot of fun.
