It all contradicts itself. In the scriptures I dunno where because I haven't touched them in years it says that all those who didn't have a full knowledge will have a chance. You have to have a perfect knowledge to go to outer darkness. Apostles are making up more punishments to keep people in

I find it especially dumb we borrow money to give to foreign countries. We have tons to cut out of our budget. Stupid government just porks out and screws good employees

I feel bad for you. The government had plenty of other things to cut besides people who do actual work.

So I posted two nights ago about talking to my ex bish and what not, and since then I have been brimming with happiness. I've felt what we called "the spirit" a whole lot more and just been all around satisfied with life. I also got a call for a job interview (I'm jobless right now) and life is looking up. I can do what I want to without Mormon limitations, and I'm planning on making th

Honestly I am a bit scared of what happens after we die. No one can know, and I think there is something, hut in scared of the idea of nothing being after this life.

I wouldn't want to do half the stuff they say either, but IF it were true, then we could. You know? I'm just saying we are way better off than mormons :)

Us exmos have an open mind for the truth like scientists. What matters to us is proof in seeing what is true. If mormons are correct and after we die we go to spirit prison, we will be able to see oh hey we were wrong, God we can do this change thing. According to the mormons, since we never had a perfect knowledge of things, we can repent and come back unto the fold. So if we are right, we lived

I guess I have it good. My exbish is going to help me find a job. He says he is still my friend along with everyone else in the ward. I didn't have any friends in the ward though...

And he was actually kinda agreeable, he wasn't a douche (I am in cali so it's not so bad here as other places). For the first bit he asked me what I was doing with my life (I haven't attended a church meeting since last Februaryish). So then when we actually got to talking about church, and well, you can totally tell the lack of critical thinking needed to be a member of the church. When I told

If the glory of God is intelligence, how in the world could God be mormon?

The good thing is now you understand the problem and what actually happened in your mind and why you feel the way you do. I totally understand about blocking out intellectuals. Mormonism tells you to literally make yourself stupid so you believe in the cult. I remember being taught that if we don't feel guilt for sins we should pray to make ourselves feel that way. It is extremely destructive and

Hello Vezzani and welcome to the forum! It's understandable what you are feeling, the Mormon church uses lots of mind control techniques to force you to think and act a certain way. If you want to understand more on how this happened to you, you can research the BITE technique in psychology. This can help you understand why you feel this way and help yourself become deprogrammed. I felt exactl

It is an insane double standard, and there is a lack of critical thinking. I'm glad I didn't go to a part of the world where critical thinking is prevalent when I went on my "mission" Madagascar is pretty devoid of critical thinking, so I am pretty sure they would forgive me if I went back and told all the inactives I baptized it was a fraud

So I was trolling missionaries online, just having fun seeing how they react to standard things such as walmart pays a high percentage of their income to charity, etc. etc. and they told me they do lots of charity work bringing Africans freshwater. They sent me this link: http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/africa-clean-water I went ahead and pointed out to them, the church doesn't provide the money t

You're totally correct. Mormons do not look for truth but validation. If it doesn't prove them correct, something is wrong with what they are looking at or themselves, not the doctrine.

I didn't fit in at church because when I went I was the only one who actually adhered to the teachings.

I put in my letter I would consider any further contact harassment and they didn't contact me except to say it was being processed. And that was even sent by email

What I did with my useless books was burn some and the rest are being used for target practice. It feels so liberating every time I destroy one

I would think the bread would need to be a slight olive color. jesus wasn't white or brown :P So anytime you partake of the sacrament and it isn't olive colored you are damning yourself to an eternity of white or brown jesus who isn't as good as the real deal!

I was the same way, except I went on a mission. I was used to all the examples of who everyone should be, I was so perfect and was going to be one of the best leaders in the church. It was annoying, but a major ego boost. What better way for the church to get people to stay? Competition. I had to stay better than everyone else, and they had to be better than me
