These people, my friends, are the true overlords and masters of TSCC. They are the ones who vetted the essays and probably every pronouncement from the "living oracles" in the past 20 years. It's no coincidence the building looks exactly like the office building for the big 15 themselves.

The older I get, the more unsettled I get with the concept of old men showing up in a room of naive impressionable 18 year old boys who are volunteering the two best years of their youth for 70 hour work weeks...and proceeding to berate and humiliate them, and to tell them to stop choking their popes. These men are not good men... Not even close

As far as the lunar cycle theory, maybe human rhythms were at one time somewhat connected to the moon. On a night with a full moon, it is possible to see almost as well in the night as during the day. Meanwhile during a new moon at night humans are essentially blind. It's not some magical connection to planets though, it's just simple illumination. And it has nothing to do with whether there is a

I'm not sure if she has her facts straight. Her impression is that he isn't legally married, "just some words said over them at her church." Mormons don't consider other marriages "licensed" so she could be referring to that. But if he isn't "legally" married and is cohabiting I think he would not be temple worthy if somebody wanted to throw the book at him.

Elders Nel SON, Christoffer SON, and Christian SEN, found all in order, they reported to Mon SON. See, there is diversity in the hierarchy. Both SONs and SENs. And is Nelson giving that guy in the picture the fourth token?

It's Stan's fault.. He has been working tirelessly for the last 150 years to cement in the public's mind the fact Mormons (used to) practice polygamy, polyandry, and teenage bride swapping He has been successful in convincing the public that Mormons punish dissent through excommunication he has convinced studious individuals that Mormons once taught the doctrine of Adam God, blood aton

...this is obviously a throw away line. Just to establish in the reader's minds that he doesn't have a personal vendetta against the religion or Smith. He then goes on to tear him to shreds. And I think he is also subtly making the point...many people claim to be "Men of God" and use this as a pretext to commit heinous crimes. So Joseph Smith as a "man of God" just fits the

And 3 of the 8 success stories were done in the Pasco stake. In the interest of broadening their portfolio of projects, I will submit one. I need three volunteer families to come by my house every Saturday morning, to clean toilet bowls, do some yard work, etc. sure I could do this myself, or pay someone, but I'm trying to save some money to invest in some attractive real estate enterprises i

Interesting article. Things really are looking bad for the Mormons among the "formerly known as lamanites". Over 1000 baptized on the reservation but weekly attendance between 2-24? I guess these are the fruits of the racism and lies. As far as the rest of the article these Mormons who speak to journalists make me want to puke. "one of the great things about LDS is when you nee

So you still "kinda believe" in the church? Don't leave yet. Google and find the "CES letter". Print it and read it. Study the church authorized essays in your morning scripture study.(links at top of this page) Find out if the product you are selling is true or not (Not is the correct answer). But if you are wishy washy about it and go home you WILL have a tough time. If you

We've all probably heard Smith's explanation of what Mormon means. The word "Mon" is Egyptian for good, and combined with the prefix "mor" meaning "more" (Egyptians knew English?) Mormon means "More good" Using smith's logic of abbreviating More>Mor could Mon also be an abbreviation for something? Methinks so. JS was a money digger. He never dug anyt

So water had microbes back in the day. That's why he was allowed to violate his own health code. Wouldn't a Revelation from God about the need to boil water before drinking have been super helpful? Instead of that bullshit about how to distinguish angels from demons by asking to shake their hand?

Mine refers to my profession as a landscape architect. I'm a "greensmith". It also refers to one of my names which is "Smith" My old handle was "gazelam" which was the super secret "new name" Joseph Smith used to hide from his enemies. I think the BOM says this means "seer stone"... He would "gaze" into the seer stone. Another Englis

Yes comparing him to Mosoon is quite an insult for the prince of darkness. He is stunningly good looking, wicked smart, and apparently much more industrious and hands-on than God. Planting millions of dinosaur fossils and changing the DNA of all the native Americans is no walk in the park. And all god seems to be able to do is give people mild indigestion to confirm "truth" and help peo

She's trying to make the oh so 21st century argument that you have to look at history in context. That you can't judge the past by the standards of today... Ok. I can buy that. So what did the people of Joseph's day think of him? How did they judge him? Hint: they weren't reaching for the buckets of tar and the castration knife because of theological differences...
