Below is a clear evidence of abuse of position/authority going on in my ward currently. The offender is a former Elder's Quorum President who is now graduated to a higher position within the Stake. This is a letter I just wrote and going to send to all members of the Bishopric and the Elder's Quorum President. Dear <Ward Name redacted> Bishopric: I (and others I have talked to in

Funny, I was at a random ward sacrament meeting and they had the cleaning list for each week printed in the program (with the week leader printed on the top of the list) I turned to my wife and said "I recognize name of the leader of week two"...after some quick thought, I realized this person was none other than the Chairman of the Board for Zion's Bank. Interesting...wonder if h

He was also a terrible landlord...he was the single largest ower of apartment buildings in LA County...desirable properties in desirable locations...but he was as cheap with his buildings as he was with his NBA team over the years...he was also a known profiler when it came to prospective tenants...articles have talked about racial profiling in who he rented to... A little Sterling story of my

Funny!...the first time I ever heard the term "dry humping" was in a joint PH/RS meeting in my BYU ward...my bishop talked about it in length during our obligatory once per semester morality talk...needless to say, it made for some riotous Sunday conversation with the roommates. Yes, i'm sure there was a lot of "dh-ing" going on in the ward.

Something you learn in law school (I'm not a lawyer, but I play one on TV): In a court proceeding, never ask a witness a question you don't know the answer to; otherwise it could end up biting you in the *ss. The Church had this happen with the papyrus from the Book of Abraham back in the 60's. Everyone knows what happened with that. Luckily for the Church, that didn't happen in the Internet E

I think you hit the nail on the head...as a SLC resident, I'm extremely irritated by this...it must be stopped...we can't have one religious organization controlling both major newspapers in this town...I will volunteer my time to the cause to stop this, if needed.

As promised earlier, here are my impressions of working at the COB My impressions of working life at the COB go a bit of something like this... Working at the COB really gave me insight into the inner workings of the corporation and a bunch of little things learned over time really eroded for me the "mystique" the Church has for a lot of members. I remember being asked in an inter

Priesthood for me is always entertaining...we are assured every week that there will at least one controversial thing said. As I always say, it is worth the price of admission (one of these weeks I'm actually going to bring popcorn for all). This week... The lesson was going along in a pretty ho-hum manner for 3/4 of the time. I actually thought I was going to have nothing to report to my w

Dress code is really strict. No casual Fridays. Coat and tie required (everybody kind of looks like missionaries). You can remove your coat while working, however you must wear your coat while riding the elevator.

Yeah, a serious NDA involved...I worked at the COB for awhile...lets just say it debunked some of the mystique the Church has over TBMs...was able to see the business operations a d extreme inefficiencies that go on...I'll find my post on another forum and copy the text over when I get a chance today

They learn that in GA school...really, there is GA training...that is an absolute fact...there was a dude speaking that way in my Stake conference and my wife and I joked that he was being groomed to be a GA...he does have the right last name for it.

Maybe BKP desires to live until he is the new President (i'm sure he has the SA)...that may be why he is still here :) ...I seriously thought October 2013 Conference would be his last...then he was still around for April...he seriously looked like he was on his deathbed when he spoke...I almost felt sorry for the guy.

I have a pretty liberal ward when it comes to music...our ward includes several very talented musicians including the composer for the music for "Saturday's Warrior"...I think my ward gives an atypical amount of control to individual musicians on what they play...I'm sure it's vetted somewhat by the Bishopric though. As far as the regular hymns, not sure who chooses them. Just to
