Have someone send you texts at frequent, but random, intervals. Read each one and laugh, but don't respond. When you're asked about the texts, smile and change the subject. Finally, when you've had enough, wait for another text, read it, jump up with a big grin and leave, looking very pleased with yourself.. They're still gonna bad mouth you;nothing was ever going to change that.

You can have tea with one of them, but then you can't have the other. The PB is gluten-free. You get better service when you get the fortune cookie. With a PB, you don't have to leave a tip when you're done. No fortune cookie will ever tell you what tribe of Israel you're from. No fortune cookie will ever tell you have a lot of babies. No PB will ever tell you if you're go

I'm not sure as to the accuracy of the statement, but when I got home from Mexico in 1967, I was told that there was a time frame that had to covered before I could donate blood, because recent travelers (back then) to 2nd & 3rd world countries could pick up parasites and pathogens in their blood. Since there was no Google then, I never checked. I just checked the current Red Cross donati

Masturbation allows a man to enjoy the thrill of orgasm. Polygamy allows a man to enjoy the thrill of domination.

A thought hit me this morning, after reading your kind response: What if she lied to me about her parents being the ones to keep us from being a 'public couple'? what if SHE was the one who was ashamed to be seen in public with a Mexican? I'll never know. Even if I spoke with her tomorrow, why would I believe her? Maybe the church had nothing to do with what happened? In truth,

In Mette Ivie Harrison's book, "The Bishop's Wife", she seems to think that her readers would have no trouble swallowing the idea that two young ladies, in her main character's mythical ward, now married, had been sexually abused by their respective fathers as children. In addition, another character had his first wife killed by her own father when she wouldn't do what the father wan

Before high school, the only mormons I knew were the people in my ward, Las Vegas 2nd ward. Starting high school, in 1958, I also started seminary and I met a bunch of 3rd ward kids, including the girl who would loom largest in my high school heart. She was local mormon royalty. People from Vegas will know that that means she was either a Stewart, Leavitt or Bunker... And in fact her parents

Please... If you've detailed this story here before, could you please link me? If you haven't, this is something about which I would love all the details possible, especially regarding the time frame and your brother's current religious status. This is the kind of story that makes TBMs wince, and that's always a good thing.

With a generous tip, it cost us $4 for a wash & haircut, neck & head massage, manicure and a facial. It would take all of two hours. Once the hair was washed, we'd sit in the chair for all the rest. It was sinfully delightful to "hold hands" with the manicurist. Mexico City, 1965.

#1 Fairly interesting week; I'll say that. Awkward, sad, and miraculous. I'll start out with the awkward...... I was on divisions and we were contacting a l bit to see if we could find anyone to teach..... we clapped our hands outside the house ( because that's how the elders roll here in Argentina) and a kid came out and looked at us with a super weird expression on his face something between h

I like "Dude" because it evokes a sense of egalitarianism. For the Spanish-speakers, "Orale, Ese" has a certain charm, along with heart felt 'knuckles'.

Ghawd is the law that runs the Bell Shaped Curve. This is why few long putts go in the hole. And a few perfect drives wind up as lost balls.

Summer of '67 my mom (a non-member) drove down to Mexico City with her best friend. She left me her car while she and her friend went on a tour of Yucatan. I had the car for two weeks. My companion and I did not do one lick of missionary work that two weeks, so the numbers we turned in were 100% fabricated. Normal weeks, we would discuss with the other elders in our apartment what we sh

Holy crap! Violent video games made the lady's son "drift away from activity in the church..." How about the possibility that her son could see that the church was not what it claimed to be, the only way to get back in ghawd's presence... Once a kid figures that out, his desire to remain active in the church is ended. But no... It's the video games. How "violent"

I won't ever resign, but I if you're thinking the way I am, yeah, I'd dig being called to a Court of Love. I'd have a lot of fun with it, and after it was over, and I got my letter, I'd put it all up on YouTube. As for the notion that excommunication is 'dishonorable', well of course it is, if you're a TBM! I personally would wear it as a badge of honor. As for the idea that by resign
