I was already personally at my own tipping point in 2008 regarding my situation and the Mormon church: it was Prop 8 and the suicide of a gay friend that put the final nail in the coffin. Packer's homophobic diatribe in Oct. 2010 general conference galvanized me to make my resignation permanent and official.
