What Age can you get Melchezdek Priesthood now ??

Didn't it used to be that you couldn't be ordained to the Melchezdek Priesthood until you were 19?


Did they change THAT policy too, when they began to rob the cradle for missionaries ?

Used to be 18 if you entered the military.
19 and out of high school otherwise.

Back in the 70's I was ordained an elder at 18. Once out of high school and with a mission in the future, (or a little college first) it was time to move on to the Elder's quorum instead of hanging out with the 16/17 year Priest-age group. With the recent lowering of missionary age, it just means that they won't have a that year of EQ pre-mission.

Others' mileage may vary.

Eligible at age 18.
I was ordained an Elder right after my 18th birthday.
