Bishop Jensen
XYZ Ward, XYZ Stake
Salt Lake City, Utah

Dear Bishop Jensen,
I am considering resigning my membership from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I understand the consequences are serious that is why I want to weigh all sides before making such a decision. I will be conducting a court of love to evaluate the truth claims of the LDS faith. This court will ultimately decide the status of my membership and association with the LDS church.

You are invited to attend a Court of Love where the evidence for and against Mormonism will be weighed. Your testimony will be entered into the record and you are invited to bring any evidence for the truthfulness of Mormonism and if you wish to provide witnesses on behalf of the LDS Church.

The court of love will be held on September 30th, 2013 6:00 PM at the local community center conference room A. My two (2) counselors and I will weigh the facts. The first counselor will argue on behalf of the LDS Church and the second counselor will argue against.

Sincerely,

John Smith
LDS Member

Ha ha! Awesome!

I bet most bishops would be far to scared to actually show up, though. As soon as you start talking about applying facts and logic to Mormonism, TBMs run for the hills!

While I agree that this is a brilliant idea, I think that a good many BPs are victims as well (they just don't know it yet). I'd rather try someone who gets paid. BKP would be my first choice.

Yeah, but they'd just forward it back to the bishop or stake pres. without even reading it.

You're probably right. BKP's body guards would probably shoot you if you tried to get close enough to hand him a summons.

At least find a bishop who has connections, or one who is in the public eye. Are any of Mit's sons bishops?

If he's a no-show, you should ex him anyway.

That's how they handled it when I ignored their "summons."

We need an exmo lawyer to polish this text.
