I can't believe that this kind of a racist depiction of Lamanites as crazy-northern-Native-American/Tarzan-tribal-wildman is currently being created and handed out to the kids as a good way to make the BOM enjoyable. How can people with a straight face say the LDS church isn't racist anymore?

I laughed at the steel sword.

I know. Steel! And plate armor (if you see more of the comic book). Why are Nephites always depicted as Romans? I think they should look like Vikings for a change.

The steel sword was funny enough, but what cracked me up was the herd of sheep with bunny ears!

They funny sheep could be inbred, or an ancient animal that archeologists haven't found yet. :)

or they could be early time Dr. Mengela genetic meshing conducted by the holy spirit.

I like how the sheep all look like Pikachu. haha.. is this a joke?

If this was satire it would be so much better! The artist is currently getting feedback from members as to whether the sleeveless dresses of the Lamanite women are too offensive. Oh my!

The part with the arms getting sliced off is pretty bloody and violent - yet the concern is with the sleeveless dresses. *Gag*

Yes, I thought "Poke-sheep"?! Who wouldn't cut the arms off invading robbers to save cute little Pikachu?

Lemmeseeherenow...

The terrible, vicious darkies have both clubs and spears,
but they are too stupid to remember how to throw a spear.
They are so idiotic that they forget how to sneak up
behind a lone swordsman and club him from behind.

No -- the ignorant savages line up in a cue, approaching
Ammon, one at a time, in front of his bloody sword, offering
their club-arms, in a succession of dozens of willing human
sacrifices.

One REAL American Indian warrior could have polished off
the entire troop of Lamanites, while Ammon was wiping some
of the gore from his blade.

But, Mormons will no doubt tell us that this absurd story
proves the Book of Mormon true -- for the skin of blackness
guys would never have lined up like that, had God not
clouded their minds and filled them with excitement....

....just like type equally excited Nephites at Bountiful,
years later, lining up in single file to endlessly probe
the nail-holes in the hands and gash in the side of another
Ammon-like, God-protected Book of Mormon super hero.

Bovine droppings and fowl feces...

"Say yer prayers!"

Why do the Laminates talk like pirates?

This isn't farce and Mormons are loving it. The artist is even seeking input from Mormons regarding if the women's clothing is too risqué at FmH. A part of me died when I heard the praise this is receiving. The guy even thinks he is a feminist. Here is his blog. http://mormoniplates.blogspot.com/?m=1

Yeah, I hope it's satire, because the people that own the rights to the likeness of Pikachu should sue royally if it ain't.

Sadly, I think it ain't.

Let's not begrudge a guy for making a little cabbage off the flock. I mean he is following in the footsteps of greatness...

At least he kept to the text of the BoM and featured a flock of sheep (Japanese anime style), and not a flock of parrots as FAIR would have it.

This is perfect. I've always thought the BOM stories were the stuff of comic books. That's a perfect medium for them. And that's where they should stay.

It's getting some pretty good reviews on amazon.

Are you kidding? It's almost a farce!

Marry his daughter? That wasn't in the original script!

Then the SHEEP had RABBIT heads! What's with that?

Then the back page is done in a Greek Vase style illustration!

Someone is making money having fun.

And having fun at the Mormon expense....which is deserved.

I'm pretty sure the daughter was offered for marriage in the original BoM. And the heads are actually Pikachu from Pokemon.

Yeah, the daughter was offered in the original. But the praise for this is horrible. I found out about this on a Mormon site where the artist was asking for feedback on how offensive -get this- the immodest dresses showing shoulders on the women are. <facepalm>

This Ammon character is a pathetic comic book character. Dead Pool would make mince meat out of him.
