Wanting to experience conference I find the voices annoy me so much! Sometimes I almost just concentrate on the drone and miss the words. (Maybe that is their objective) So late into it yesterday I decided to list the words that Mormons use either differently from the norm, or excessively. I started during Monson's speech and added a few from memory.

What would make conference bearable would be a pitcher of bloody mary, celery sticks and all, to be drunk during conference, then followed by sandwiches and cold beer. That would be awesome. Then top off the the sandwiches with a cheese board and amaretto, followed by a demitasse of Lavazza caffe espresso.

(I mean, as long as I'm fantasizing, why not go whole-hog?)

Thanks for that idea. Ironically, I haven't paid that much attention to a TSM talk since, well, ever. It made it actually fun. This is so much better to critique, rather than to try to find what is inspiring to me. Makes conference fun, instead of boring and stressful (oh no, what'll be my answer when asked by Momo coworkers and family what my favorite talk was??) and depressing (I don't agree with that, but I'm not allowed to) etc

I've always wondered why it's always "In the words of The Poet...blah, blah, blah." Poets are always quoted anonymously yet they make sure to note the exact leadership position of any Mormon leader being referred to or quoted (including their middle initial).
