The GA's are intensely afraid of independent women, probably the YWs most of all, coming to the conclusion of "To hell with this crap."

Multiple talks about basically reminding the LDS women of their place.

I am throwing things at the TV!!
I can't believe how many times they have told women how much they are valued....as long as they stay at home and know their place.

Women are valued in the church, without them who would make snacks for the men to eat after the priesthood session?

This really should be no big surprise. A story on one of NPR's newscasts yesterday said that there were women protesting outside of the temple because they couldn't participate in the priesthood sessions (I hope I got the wording right--I was never a Mormon). Those ostriches! I wonder how long it will take for my braille proofreading partner (who is very LDS) to recognize that these idiots who are "older than Methuselah", according to reporter and former Utah resident Stephanie Mencimir, are not going to change their tune!

It's got to be rough for mormon women who can't have kids.

Their think tanks and professional legal advisors have told the 12 to do whatever is needed to control the women.
Not help, bless, instruct, love ... Just control through guilt and stupidity.

Heehee! I predict backlash!

Not only will they get neg press for the 1950s-era misogyny, they will alienate even more Mormon women (the ones who aren't completely brainwashed, anyway).

Let them have at it -- it's only going to backfire.

A lot of the better TBM female thinkers were getting nervous with the faster moving Ordain crowd. Perhaps this will motivate them all to get back on the same page and recognize their real common enemy.

Offical website here:

http://ordainwomen.org/

Looks like a good movement to show the backwards thinking of the church and it's men.

I didn't know if maybe I was finally hearing this stuff for the first time or not.... I feel like they have said stuff like this in the past, but I didn't notice or wasn't offended by it because I was TBM and believed all of it....

But yes, the talks that I heard over conference weekend BLEW me away!!! I mean, they didn't try and sugarcoat it at all, they just came out and said it.. Women need to be in the home, women need to have babies, that is all they are good for.

And really, the saddest thing about this all, is that the SAHM TBM's on my facebook RAVED about these talks!! They just ate them up. Made me so sad.
