Time to celebrate o/t

I have shared a lot of sad and upsetting things here on the board. So I wanted to share my happiness today. Two of my students graduated in the last couple of days with their degrees. I am SO proud of them.

I work for a federally funded program that helps to offset the educational disadvantage of Aboriginal peoples here in Australia. I tutor them through their university degrees. My area is in the art/humanities area, but there are tutors in all areas of degrees.

To see two of my students excel, despite the difficulties in thier way, is a unique and special experience.

SO please join me in my special pride in them.
I am SO SO proud of them!!

Thankyou all!! I appreciate your kind words, and yes I am so proud and happy. Those two special graduation cermonies will stay with me forever!

I am a firm believer that people can overcome circumstance if they have two things:

1) desire

2) opportunity

I have great respect for people creating #2. We need more people to create opportunity, so that those with desire can actually make it out of their circumstances.

Great people there in Australia, which I have only seen on TV, and by meeting in person here in the USA.
