Is it me or do others notice that TBMs (and even some Ex-TBMs) continually pretend what they don't really feel or don't really believe?
They pretend they like the Temple experience, they pretend to have a burning in their bosoms, they pretend to have a testimony, etc.
I guess my brainwahsing just didn't take in the nearly 15 years I was in TSCC. I am just not good at pretending. I just offended Bishop pricks etc.
TSCCs theme song should be "THE GREAT PRETENDER."

Mormons are conditioned to say stuff like that. It's
interesting that you can bring up the Church to a Mormon and
then check off everything they say after that from a short list
of sentences.

Much of Mormonism involves repeating trite sentences over and over.

"The Spirit has really been strong here tonight."

"If I didn't have the Church in my life I'd XYZ."

"I really loved this last General Conference, Elder XYZ's talk
was so inspiring."

etc.

A certain lying lawyer named Dallin Oaks once said: "The gaining of a testimony is in the bearing of it." This was right at my tipping point period, and infuriated me. He was blatantly asking people to lie to others and themselves until they believe the lie!

They teach their little children to lie by rote, making them say "I know the church is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet." They, of course, know no such thing.

Mormons are trained to fake it for their entire lives.

I wish you could create polls on here!

Are you saying that none of the experiences are real?
