I did a double-take when I read this, because it's the Stake Centre which shares a parking lot with the Toronto Temple. Or rather, the parking lots are connected.

I don't think it was a murder or anything. The location just got my attention.

20 years old. Suicide, maybe?

That was my first thought too.

Dead on the front lawn of a church on a Sunday morning is either just odd timing or a disturbing message. Either way though, it's sad.

That's just a new spin on "baptism for the dead." ;-)

Yes. Perhaps a freshly necro-dunked zombie wandered out of the building.

Or an overly helpful convert didn't quite understand Baptisms for the Dead.

Sad. Really.

I vote for suicide. Maybe someone overcome with the cog dis of Mormonism . . . or suffering from sexual identidy horrors (who never made it to this board?)

Dunno.

Thanks, Greyfort.

I was thinking suicide, too.

Maybe it was a drug overdose. Every once in a while here in Utah you hear stories where people have been using drugs and someone overdoses and dies. Their "friends" have been know to dump the body at a mormon church where they know it will eventually be found.

It is a sign and omen that the Zombie Apocalypse is about to begin.

The Zombies will be heading for LDS temples because they are all pissed that they were baptized.

It will be a great excuse for the Glen Beck/LDS Freedom Forum people to buy big trucks and automatic weapons, needed for them to proselytize to the dead.

That was the temple I used to go to lol.

Two of my children were married there. (of course, I wasn't allowed in at the time)

Is it just me who finds the jokes and laughter in this thread a bit surprising?

FFS, someone died.

It isn't meant to be offensive. While we all agree that it is indeed a tradgedy, the fact that it seems that none of us knows the person or the details sort of dehumanizes the situation and removes us from the tradgedy to some degree. A little "gallows humor" is acceptable and not meant to be offensive.

No. Not for me, it doesn't.

I think about all the gay mormon youth who have committed suicide on church grounds and wonder if this is another.

You're not alone.

I'm not overly comfortable with it, but I don't think people mean harm.

I don't think people mean harm either but I do find it surprising that people who I assumed would be empathetic are suddenly not very empathetic.

I am also guessing that there may be some loud laughter less reverence when Boyd K Packer takes the big dirt nap.

They will be able to bury his intellect in a matchbox.

Not only will we laugh, but the world will indeed be a better place after his death.
