I don't listen any of them regularly but I think Joel Osteen talks good. I like Him.

Father Guido Sarducci. Here I am asking serious inputs.
I really like this guy, handsome, white, has a cutie pie for a wife, doesn't look like a corpse and speaks well.....

They are fascinating in a train wreck kind of way... The other night I watched Jim Bakker spend 30 minutes selling water purifiers...I am not into any of them seriously...they do have skill at what they do I guess. My actual favorite preacher is at the local church. Those people on tv seem more like cartoon characters and would be funny except people send them money hand over fist sigh...

I didn't hijack a thing...your all bent out of shape because of my choices.

The things is, they ARE my favorite preachers, how dare you discount my favorites? they speak to me...I think they "talk good" too.

I only regret not including "Brian of Nazareth" from the Monty Python flick.

you asked Quinlansolo...I asnwered. If you dont' like it, be more precise in your original post.

I can't stand any TV preachers at all.
Although that Joyce woman is fairly entertaining at times.

Charles Stanley (TV preacher), and my local messianic rabbi.

Stanley IS great. I listen to some on the radio who are not obnoxious. The good thing is you can gain some peace and serenity in 10 min. with them and then change the channel. Sure beats a long winded guy at the pulpit who just likes to hear himself talk. My local pastor is tops though. No complaints with him at all.

This dates me very well... favorite preacher was Bishop Fulton J Sheen, he was on TV in the 1950's. Mom use to make me and my three brother watch the show, "Life is worth living".

I believe reruns are on the Catholic TV network, EWTN.

EWTN is usually next to the LDS network on cable tv.

Although I am not catholic in any way, shape, or form, I like listening to Father John Corapi on Radio Station EWTN.

I don't believe all of his doctrine, but in his life, he has been to hell and back, like into drugs, vice, and heavy duty "sin".. He is humourous and tells a good sermon. He tells it like it is.

My all-time favorite was a woman preacher at the Church of Christ in Holladay, UT. I heard her preach 3 times and she seemed so focused on HOW people lived their lives in an honest "christian" (for lack of a better word) way.

None of her sermons felt overly religious, although she did refer to the scriptures for very positive quotes, but they all felt uplifting, hopeful and memorable.

I thought she was an atheist.

this dude is priceless! His optimism, endurance, ability to deflect the stodgy establishment evangelicals etc. makes me love him. And, he has a wife (Victoria) who has an anger management problem. The 'prosperity gospel' is alive and well in Houston, TX. God bless America!

I mean, seriously, so many seem to fall into that stereotypical lunatic fringe (Ernest Angeley, Benny Hinn, Robert Tilton, Jim & Tammy Faye Baker, ad nauseum) that is so easy to make fun and be dismissive of.

There are some great christian ministers/preachers out there. They just don't get the same publicity because of the fact that they aren't psycho.

Here is one of my favorites:

Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens. Do they count?

Don't know if Dawkins, Harris, or Hitchens necessarily count as preachers, but they all three have the arrogant, ignorant asshole part down pretty well.

Yeah, having more facts than faith comes off as arrogance.

Esteeming one who has faith in spite of fact is such a humble enterprise. Yep. And the sky is orange.

Joyce Meyer.
I used to read her books when I was in the morg.
They helped me cope with life more than anything I ever bought at Deseret Book, that's for sure!
(And I got them free from the library.)

OMG, The Rev Horton Heat! LOL! We used to see them in our college town back in the '80s! I rented a house in Farmers Branch when Tilton was kicking it. I used to drive right by the school every day on the way to work, it was full of kids. Fun days!!!

Joel Olsteen has been often called a 'bubble-gum' preacher by some of the heavy hitters. I like him ok, definitely a feel good kind of guy. Have to give him kudos for taking over the old Summit in Houston.

I like Melissa Scott, I was watching her for a while but quit doing so. She's on the ION channel, perhaps I'll pick up watching her again.
