As for the missionaries being reassigned, here's a link from a few days ago. Yes, it's the dreaded Deseret News but other news outlets have reported similarly:

In a nutshell, the Tacloban-area mishies are in Manila awaiting reassignment within the Philippines. Many of them are pitching in with the clean-up effort. Missionaries who are close to their departure date may choose to go home.
