Vatican says assertions that these women were priests are 'fairy tales'

Well, ain't that some thing!
A man walks on the water, turns water into wine, raises the dead, gets raised from the dead himself is accepted as fact.... but women priests? Now THAT'S preposterous!

Interesting. If this is true, it will likely be a case of accumulating evidence.

I'm intrigued by the notion that you can explore the Roman catacombs via Google maps!

How could women have been priests when they didn't even have penises?

I'm all for equal rights, but how on earth would it be physically possible for women to perform the work and rituals of a priest without the vital and indispensable role that male genitalia play in performing those duties?

When someone can explain to me how a person could
Perform the Mass
Take Confessions
Council Parishioners
Govern the Church
And etc.
without the benefit of a cock between their legs, then and ONLY then can we discuss ordaining women to the priesthood.

I agree. Whenever I have had a cock between my legs, my eyes have rolled around in the back of my head. It makes it difficult to focus my vision let alone my thoughts.

The pictures I saw were gender ambiguous. A lot of people on FB wondered how you could tell their sex.

They can tell because the pictures are scratch-n-sniff. They are definitely Chanel No.5...

I would be delighted if they prove their were wome priests, but I don't think the figures I saw will prove that

Huh, I definitely think women should be priests, but I wouldn't bet they rent that those figures are women- or men for that matter. If they find some that are women with no doubt but I would be thrilled

You're right girl. They're probably Drag Queens. After all, the pictures were found in the Catacombs of Priscilla (Queen of the Desert?).

I guess you are not familiar with priestly vestments. You,know the kind that male priests wear.

Well, we already know that the Epistle to the Romans refers to the female apostle Junia as well as the deaconess Phoebe.

OK, I'll admit I'm too lazy to look it up myself, but I remember a discussion with my son who had read the Gnostic Gospel. Mary Magdalene was a key figure, and closer to Jesus than even Peter, according to those writings. She was a leader chosen by Jesus himself.

Has anybody else read this and can fill in the rest?

It does say that, but that gospel is much later than the canonical gospels which is one reason it was not included in the N T. However, Magdalene seems to.have been.pretty important in the gospels.which were included

There is a Gospel of Mary Magdalene.
