I have heard Mormons go to prisons to solicit members. Could certain members be allowed to join the LDS church as part of a parole agreement? Parole officers could mandate participation in 3 hour services on Sundays and other church requirements. Could this help deter crime rates?

That is illogical.

You should think about Green Day instead.

And listen to their music.

That is more important.

and it certainly does not save souls. It destroys families and intellectual, social independence.

Con-artists teaching parolees. Now that is just plain scary.

The world does not need more conniving sociopaths learning how to start new religions. We have enough problems with the ones we already got!

No. Just, just, no.

That way, all the mormons will be EXPERIENCED criminals, rather than MLM assholes.

A .22 to the base of the skull is a solution to our overcdowded prisons. No more revolving door parole.

That's a bit over-reactionary and morbid.

Why?

If we didn't arrest people for petty drug charges, our system wouldn't be so overburdened.

Puritanical laws make us all criminals. Over 40% of Americans have done marijuana, make us one of the most criminal societies since Prohibition.

A good percentage of the criminals arrested here are already mormons. So guess that doesn't really work does it.

In the pursuit of indoctrinating prisoners, the cult of Scientology is way ahead of the cult of Mormonism.

Scientology has a non-profit called Criminon to target, errrr, "rehabilitate" prisoners.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminon

Narconon is another Scientology program that has targeted prisoners.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narconon_International

Of course, Scientology is the “authority” on everything. Just ask Tom Cruise. If you can only handle a small dose of batsh*t crazy in one viewing, skip to 2:45 minutes in. Tom will tell you, “We are the authorities on getting people off drugs; we are the authorities on the mind; we are the authorities on improving conditions; Criminon: we can rehabilitate criminals…”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFBZ_uAbxS0

Here a cult, there a cult, everywhere a cult cult.

If you get through the entire video and want to see a spoof with Tom’s thoughts on Mormon home teaching:

I think if you gave prison keys to a mormon security guard they would be dumb enough to give the keys to some Joe Smith type con man inmate. Hell, they would probably give the keys to Brian Mitchell.

And don't even get me started on blood atonement. Not only would that get rid of he inmates, but it would get rid of all people who are in interracial marriages, anyone who has commited "adultery", and anyone who disagreed with the profit.
