I know. All I ever see are reports on the shrinking middle class to now the poor.

I used to ski in my younger days. I even worked for a world-class resort. I had hoped to be skiing into my old age.

It won't happen. Physically it is now unwise for me to do so. But even if not for that, the sheer expense of it would keep me out. I agree that the middle class is being priced out of the sport.

DW and I have been skiing Brian Head in Utah for the past 4 years.

It's the ONLY place we can afford.

Lift tix have been $45-$49 weekday.

We had 50% discounts.

$25 per day.

Terrible Herbst had 50% off coupons. One year, our Condo/Timeshare had 50% coupons. The Resort was sold last year and the 50% discounts are prolly a thing of the past.

Even so, $49 lift tickets are a bargain these days.

colorado is an afforable place to ski. this year you could buy an unlimited winter pass for a dozen resorts for under $500, one more reason to leave Utah.
