Really? Volunteer? I know translating church documents used to be a paid job, I personally know couple people who did that to help with their income.
I see it as another money saving attempt ... why pay someone with experience and qualifications to do a reliable work when there are plenty of those who would be thrilled to do it just so they can feel important and brag to others how they translate and edit for church.

So basically they are having members artificially tweek Google local LDS chapel reviews, boost YouTube numbers and make their videos look more popular and do random activities to make Mormonism look more popular and show up more readily to non-LDS people. Serve the Lord by manipulating the media. There is something seriously wrong with these people.
You remember Bednar telling everyone to repent and pay their tithing? The cult is going down. They know they can't sustain their spending without the money coming in. Just another sign that they are failing.
Sounds like they're collecting addresses for the mishies and members to come around and bug those people.
What better way to find new converts than among those who are already willing to volunteer?
Reminds me of those "suckers lists" at fairs and other events, where people are invited to sign up for a prize - but in reality they wind up as targets for marketers.
