So what are things which mean one thing to gentiles and quite another to Mormons?

In the above post linked I came up with a couple. They were leaving Mormons only can mean two things - offenses + sinful desires and gentiles who want nothing to do with Mormonism means "they just don't understand."

Are there more?

Mormoncodes:

Mormons: Definition of "Secret Combinations" -- a furtive society of evil-doers intent on carrying out their dastardly plan.

Non-Mormon Definition: "Darn, I forgot the numbers to my gym locker again!"

Here's another:

Mormons: Definition of "Cafeteria Mormonism" -- the narrow zone between facts and actual doctrine

Non-Mormon Definition: The unappetizing "shit on a shingle" served up in Ward Houses every Sunday

The codes are far too sacred to talk about since we are not in the temple.

You probably will even want to know our secret names, and will feign a handshake.

Who in the hell is saying that Friberg is equal to da Vinci? If anyone is, then they are a major idiot. Even my extreme TBM mom wouldn't say that.

My mother has no clue who or what Friberg or Davinci are.

Pot luck.....In the real world it's a dinner that everyone brings food to share.

In the Mormon world, it's date night and an opportunity to get rid of food your family won't eat.

HA!

Arnold Friberg = artist

Leonardo da Vinci = artist, sculptor, mathematician, scientist, inventor, and one of the greatest minds of Western Civilisation

Mormons are delusional.

It was just a hypothetical example.

By their dollars you shall know them. How many homes have Arnold on the wall but not real art? Remember Mormons will read Stephanie Meyer over Jane Austin and James Talmage over Dante Alighieri, they will listen to Janice Kapp Perry over Bach and take advice from Tom Monson but give you a blank stare if you mention Immanuel Kant.

Your hypothetical example is brilliant.

The use of the word "gentile" to mean non-Mormons, for one. Traditionally, gentiles refers to non-Jews. ;)

New name......Something women get when marry.

If you're a Mormon, it's something that you're not supposed to tell anyone lest they slit your throat and gut you like a dead deer.

I guess I don't know many Mo-codes. That's what I get growing up in a ward with more converts than BIC.

You are too good at this. You must have the blood of Lehi in your veins (which means you are from the tribe of Manassa)!

Stake house? We've always called it a "stake center" around here. Equally stupid name of course.

Great list. All dripping with double meanings for Mormons. No wonder CogDis is easier for some TBMs.
