Did you, by chance, happen to spill some Brandy in your coffee before your walk?

There are several white deer that live in the area I live in. They're albino, and have red eyes. It's a bit of a shock the first time you see one.

Native Americans believed that the white deer was sent from the Great Spirit as a sign of a great shift. Very fortuitous.

Or perhaps simply albino.

It shows that people are shifting away from believing in things like gods, or white deer foreshadowing stuff. So you know, they want to get their last hurrah in while they can.

I think it's the white buffalo, not deer. But either one would be cool to see

It's the second one I've seen on our farm. The first one was over twenty years ago.

Was there an angel with a flaming sword astride yon white deer?

Could have been a real mormon moment.

I wish I could have been there to see it. :-)

What a beautiful memory you now have for the rest of your life!!!

Me, too! I see 20-30 every dawn and dusk, in my W. PA neighborhood, and in our yard. They bed down here in groups of 12-15 sometimes. I forgot once and ran out at bedtime, to get the paper we left on the walkway on a Sunday, and incited a near riot. Deer flying everywhere, into each other and into bushes and out over the hill into the ravine.

Heard of, but have never seen, a white one. Always wished to. The OP is one lucky duck.

We see tons of deer every day where we live. Never have seen a white one, though.

If you don't mind sharing, where do you live?

Wait.

Maybe the deer just repented and is becoming delightsome.

Keep us posted as to what your next days bring. Just sure that your luck is about to change.

Makes me remember my oldest sis who has now passed always doing some little ditty with her hands whenever she saw a white horse because then she would be in line to receive the good-luck the white horse was bringing.

That is beautiful and lucky. Imagine if you had seen a white salamander though. That is really lucky because they are often guarding gold plates worth a lot of money.

Then it was definitely a mormon deer. I'm sure it's up-to-date on its tithing.

Tell me, was there a saddle on it?

We just drove to our property in the mountains outside of Denver. As we drove up to the house, there were two huge deer standing like statues in the yard. Not albino though.

What a beautiful experience. I hope the ancient Native Indian belief that you are going to be specially blessed is true for you!
