from yesterday's NYT. a comment on the Roma (gypsy's)

"Some aspects of Gypsy culture have not helped matters, experts say. It is a clannish, strongly patriarchal society where youngsters are pushed into early marriage and education has not been much valued."

Gee, now what other cultures could that possibly apply to, I wonder?...

On a side note, how in the world do MORmON leaders get away with encouraging young women to put their focus on finding a husband and popping out babies when dear old lyin' Hinckley came up with his "6 B's" a few years ago, one of which was "Be Smart"?
