This is literally the 5th post.

But it's interesting!

Because it's so ridiculous. Is he for real? How long will he last? Will the Mormon church ask him to stop before he embarrasses them/starves himself to death? And if he dies, what will become of his fiancée? I know I'm hooked.

Anyway, it's only four active threads. Mine doesn't count anymore, because it's closed.

Yes, it makes me laugh everytime I think of it

So much comic material to work with. OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

I think he wants to win 1st place in the 2014 Darwin awards.

After he finishes starving himself to death to end same sex marriage in Utah will he be resurrected? and will he go on a hunger strike to end world hunger?

Would holding his breath be faster? We better fix this law before Trestin passes out.

Good God, does he actually think this will work?

I thought there was an article in the Salt Lake Trib about this, but now I can't find it anywhere. Am I daft, or did it exist one time and they completely pulled it? Or both?

I know. I'm almost (get that, almost) feeling a little guilty about how much I'm lovin the attention this weirdo is getting and how it makes Utah and Mormons look. Trust me, in places like here in Tennessee, no one is going, "oh he's just out in left field, other Mormons don't think that."

But he really is tragic. Yeah Ghandi's hunger strike made an impact. Tristan's, not so much.

Love it.

I'm wondering if the Church higher ups are having any input about this nut case like asking him not to bring attention to the Church this way.

We know TSCC is all about image and Tristan can't be helping.

Ghandi's hunger strike made an impact because it was for promoting peace and love. Trestin's hunger strike is about stopping those two exact things.

He's a one man microcosm of the church itself.
His views are hateful so he's starving, and shrinking, and he looks stupid doing it.

I don't think he needs any help. He's doing a marvelous job of making a joke of himself all on his own.

We could send him a box of chocolates perhaps. Or maybe some green Jello.

but also disturbing. To me, Trestin Meacham is a perfect example of what's wrong with Mormonism and religion in general. He's isolated, mental, impervious to feedback. He's probably convinced himself this is the reason he's here. We should all be glad he's more self-destructive than anything else. He could have chosen guns or a bomb to make his pointless point.

Back to the funny, was just looking at his Twitter page. He sez the TV news story made him look dumb in the editing.

He also changed his Facebook page from public to private. Damn. I was enjoying reading his daily starving posts.

Did he just DO A MORMON and change his public hunger strick to a personal prayer and fasting?

I have been using the comments section to question his moral high ground given Joseph Smith's 33 wives, a 14 year old and marrying 11 woman who had other living husbands.

This just flows together so well. Member of cult founded by pedophile swinger opposes gay marriage.

A gay friend of mine has decided to write a love poem to Trestin. Should be FABULOUS!!

Anybody know if he's related to the Meachams from Morgan, UT?

Is he going to pay any fast offerings? Though he really isn't fasting.

Of course a true hunger strike would not include water and vitamins. Also when he passes out did he sign any release forms that prohibit any medical assistance, such as a feeding tube?

He is on a hunger strike for the cause of promoting inequality and tearing apart established families.

The vitamins are interesting -- seems to me he's looking out for health in this so, he fully expects that everyone will see how rightous his cause is and feel compelled to submit to his devine cause.

and the legal obligations to get him medical assistance if he is unable to respone himself is and interesting aspect as well.

"I cannot stand by and do nothing while this evil takes root in my home...."

Evil seems deeply rooted in his home already, and its name is bigotry.

He's 35 years old - as a good little Mormon he should be married with kids - what about them?

He vowed to eat nothing until the decision is overturned, saying his hunger strike will end "when this stops or I am dead."

Does he have a public facebook account? Since he is obviously an attention whore, it would make sense that he does. In which case, I propose we post pictures of food all over it. My favorite, a package of skittles, opened with the little candies falling out. I would then caption it, "Hmm, taste the rainbow." I would also post pictures of lovely gay couples, at their wedding receptions, surrounded by food, with the caption, "they look happy, and you are hungry and miserable."
