I was wondering if the last sentence is a quoted correctly?
What was the context of this sentence?

Found this quote on another forum:

(It's from the "Millenial Star," a Mormon church newspaper published in England. This is the where the quote was originally published, in 1861.)

Thanks for posting that link. What I found interesting was a little further on on that page. He talks about having a few clerks to write his words for him and how accurately they do that for him.

Hasn't the church or maybe apologists sometimes claimed that the clerks were NOT accurate?

My copy is the 1950 edition. The phrase is the same.

I own The History of The Church set, and nowhere in Vol 6 408-409 do I see the quote by JS.

What edition do you own? I'm wondering how well the different editions match.
