For those of us who go with spouses and children to Sacrament Meeting or more in an attempt to "keep the peace", do you ever wonder how you are viewed by those sitting around you?

My wife attends a Ward where she knows very few people. When I go with her, I dress very casually, never bow my head, never take the sacrament, and moan quietly throughout in an attempt to assuage the pain of having to listen to the unreal drivel that spews from the pulpit. My wife is constantly hitting my shoulder.

I sometimes wonder if the other attendees wonder whether I am a non member, or exed or just a disgruntled asshole.

No one ever approaches me, so I think the non-member is out.

If you think members assume you have been exed or a "sinner", why do you subject yourself to it?

Personally, I'd draw the line at being hit in the shoulder.
You might try doing the same back to her and ask her how she likes it.

She seems to have a lot of hostility toward you or she would be sitting there rubbing you up,like so many other couples do.

The shoulder hitting is to get me to moan less obtrusively.
She understands why I moan.

I don't go and I do wonder what those people say about me. Probably most of them are following their prophets in condemning me as an offended sinner.

I was going for the first few weeks after it was known that I don't believe. To help out with the kids.
But just recently I was informed that she didn't want me to go to "her church" with her anymore.

So now I don't have to deal with it....which is nice.
